questions on almonds....

ive read about how great almonds are for you and got some to snack on while im at work and im hungry. i have a few questions. do almonds go bad? these are the unroasted unsalted kind that still have the skin.

also, per one oz serving there is 6grams of protein, 6 grams of carbs, and 15 grams of fat. does anyone have any idea how i can measure to get a 1 oz serving without a scale?? thanks for the help in advance.
 
If kept in a cool place and away from the sun almonds shouldn't get rancid

anyway just eat one and if it got bad you'll notice it instantanely
 
Wonder how the ones sitting in my bookbag in the trunk of my car in an opened package are after 5 days....forgot about them...
 
They could eventually go bad.....or get stale..... taste one & see how it is.....
 
Almonds are my #1 fat source. I eat about 3 servings a day. On the label it says that 1 serving = 1/4 cup.
 
"According to the United States Department of Agriculture, one serving of nuts equals one ounce which is about: 28 peanuts, 22 almonds, 20 pecan halves, 18 cashews, 14 walnut halves, 7 brazil nuts, 20 hazelnuts, 12 macadamia nuts or 47 pistachios. One ounce of nuts has approximately 7 g of protein, 14 g of fat and 160 calories."
 
ive heard 28 nuts, 22 nuts, and a 1/4 cup. question about the portions of an actual number, are all almonds the same size? stupid question i know but hell ive never eaten an almond before this week. anyone else heard the 1/4 cup? thats a hell of a lot easier to measure than counting them out.
 
For anyone wondering. The nuts that were baking in my trunk for 4 days still tasted excellent today when I tried them out :)
