Quest. of Clen - I read the fact sheet

NYgirl said:
Thank you Bunny and everyone else for their advice. I have been following Weight Watchers for the past 10 weeks and have lost only 10 pounds. I am getting a bit discouraged. If I could just get a jump start I know it would be smooth sailing from there, but I seem to be going at a snail pace.
If it was 1 lb of FAT a week I'd say that is better than average for sure.. but if you are just tracking with a scale that really doesn't tell you much.

Have you read this? Sassy's READ sticky at the top of the forum?

The links & info is priceless... you will have a new outlook on things if you read it in it's entirety

The things outlined here changed my life & outlook on fitness as a whole.

Clen sucks.

Clean diet is much better for fat loss.

Want a good "fat burner" - try Thermorexing from the AF Store. (link in my siggy)

Clean up the diet and get a good training program .... that'll work. Stick around - you can get a ton of great info and guidance. :)

Weight by itself is not the best way to measure your progress in FAT loss. "Weight" as measured on the scale only shows you the TOTAL of all your bone, muscle, fat and water weight. That doesnt' really tell you much about your FAT loss. Further water is a variable that can swing up and down as much as 5-8 lb say during your period.

Can you get your bodyfat tested? Or you can buy a set of calipers and get someone to help you with a 7 or more pinch point bodyfat measure, and then do that on a regular basis - e.g. 1x/week or 1 / 2 weeks and track the relative changes. That will give you some insight into if you are losing fat or muscle as well as looking at your weight. Or even simpler, do you notice that your clothes fit looser?

The reason it is so important to use more than just weight to measure progress is 1) because it doesnt' really tell you anything and 2) people put so much emphasis on "weight" and tie so much of their self-esteem to that number that they can just sabotage their efforts. For example, last year I came off a 2 yr break from competition prep and a really wild personal life including quitting a really toxic job, selling my house, relocating to another state and then doing it all again to where I didn't know anyone at all. I got a bit plump again. ANyway I started back on a goal to compete in the summer and between Jan & Mar dropped from 24% to 15% bodyfat thru diet, training and cardio, but ONLY DROPPED 2 LBS. I made lots of progress and the scale was irrelevant to measureing that progress.

You make a great point, Sassy69, because I have been on Furosimide 40mg (which is a water pill) for years. If I don't take it I get pitting edema (an extreme amount of water weight when I can push in my shins and they will stay that way). I cut out salt but I am prone to it. When I get on a scale it will flucuate throught the day. I get so frustrated. How do I measure a different way?

I would think about mixing Clen and Furo.

As you know, CLen can cause excruciating cramps both form dehydration and form depleting of potassium and taurine.

As you know - proper potassium levels are paramount to anyone on a diruretic

I would definitly not take both together. I do take potassium now because of the furosemide. From what I am reading of the Clen I think if I do decide to take it I would do it in the 2 weeks on 2 weeks off method.

Exactly like I told you above -- bodyfat measure w/ calipers. Or just go by how your clothes fit - are they getting looser, tighter, no change? Then the bodyfat isn't changing. If you are losing bodyfat you should be getting smaller regardless of the number on the scale.
