Protein while flying?

I've got a long cross country red eye next week with a couple of plane switches late at night and early morning. I've been going for 150-180g of protein/day and I eat fish, but no meat.

With FAA and TSA restrictions, what are some options I have for carrying protein onboard? My one plastic bag while have some cosmetics and stuff and I don't think a bag of (protein) powder would pass, especially since I don't have a lot of size.

Currently, I'm planning on packing a few soy meat sandwhiches but I'm not big on soy protein. Opening a can of tuna probably isn't cool :) Would taking a bunch of amino capsules be helpful?

Thanks for any info and ideas.

I usually just put my protein in the 'shaker' bottles (without water). They pass no problem. Then when I get onboard the flight I just ask the stuarts for water and add it to the shaker bottle. Never had a problem......I have a side compartment pouch in my backpack and the shaker bottle is quite visable and never been questioned (I fly all the time).

I wish I knew that before I left. I'll try it on the way home.

I asked about powder in a plastic baggy and they told me it probably wouldn't be allowed through. I did have on little sealed pouch of Designer Whey (not my protein of choice) that was allowed through.

Thanks for the other ideas. Too much other stuff in protein bars for me, and one casein shake wouldn't hold me for the 13 hours in the air.

Thanks a lot
