Planning Meals for Success~To what lengths have you gone?

Has anyone else done this? For the first time I am pre-proportioning my meals night before based on my required macronutrient levels.

I planned the whole thing out in FitDay, printed it out, fixed the food and put it in little containers. Seems that when I don't plan it out I get off track and stick something in my mouth I'm not supposed to.

Anyone else done this? Any tips?

Failing to plan is planning to fail..

pretty much a staple.

Tips non-really.. Cooking meat every three days helps to save time..

Thanks. Ok, I'm awesome at planning but I've never prepared it all the night before and put it in cute little containers.

I can hardly wait to eat it, lol. Its a lot of work but it will be worth it.

I prepared all my meals through Friday this afternoon in a few hours... yes my kitchen is now a wreck but I am guaranteed to make it through the week.

Needtos cookbook was good for this, it has all the info on how long food lasts in the fridge. Theres also good info in the diet thread you know where on pulling this off, one member was having a hard time getting all the meals in with his schedule :)

AwEsOmE~ I can't wait. Yes, I do pretty well but I HAVE to really stick with the perscribed food amounts or well...15 almonds here and there and pretty soon I'm screwed! So, cool, this will help.

Ok, gotta go detail my kitchen now! LOL!

I bought containers that have 4 seperate sections. I'd get my portions for each meal and have them already seperated by my wanted amounts, and in the 4th section would be an accounted for dessert. Works well, but I just burned out on it. I don't have the patience to be so exact or the goals that require it. If you do though I'd highly recommend it. Also expect to get hungry throughout the day and have a healthy snack ready, like a protein bar, pb sandwich, ect. on hand in a baggie.

With my work schedule I pre-plan my meals. I cook on Monday and it covers me Mon-Wed. Then on Thurs. I cook again and it covers me from Thurs-Sat.

Sometimes, my wife eats the the leftovers I prepared for my work meals. I keep cans of tuna on hand for that. Here is an example of what I am doing now:

Meal #1
Protein shake

Meal #2
three egg whites, one whole egg, three slices of turkey or ham

Meal #3
One chicken breast and some low-fat cottege cheese

Meal #4
Meat & veggies

Meal #5
Pre-workout shake

Meal #6
Post workout shake

If I am hungry inbetween meals, I'll eat some almonds or a 2nd chicken breast, or a few hard bolied egg whites.

Like you, I planned everything out on fitday. I find it is much easier to stick to eating well when everything is prepared in advance.
