Do you guys do them as part of your chest routine? what do you think about them?

I do them once in a while as I like to get some variation when I do workout my chest.

I used to do them back in the day... (like 3-4 years ago)
Then stopped for a long time... and just recently picked them up again as an accessory movement.. I usually use incline flyes accompanied by pullovers as my accessory movements, with incline BB and flat BB as my core movements.

I rarely ever do them. Maybe once or twice a year. I've used the 70's for a few a long time ago but they always seem to hurt my shoulders in the long run...

I love the peck flys. I get such a tremendous burn on them. Plus, i think my chest size and fullness has definately benefited from them. Although, i use a peck deck machine, insteah of dumbbell flys. Maybe that makes a difference. I dont like db flys all that much, but the peck deck machine lets me concentrate on growing, and i like it.

I only do Pec Dec for flyes. The real thing is 1) too easy to cheat on and 2) hard on the shoulders.

joncrane, i agree the the real fly is easier to cheat on, but the peck deck weight stack has zero relation to the db flys. I can do like 3-4 times more weight on the peck deck than i can on db flys. But hell, it not the weight, it the consistency. So long as i use the same machine and see progress i am happy. Afterall, progress is progress.

Also, i used to get a lot of stress in the elbow from peck deck, cause i was doing it wrong. I use to let my elbows drop a bit. But now i keep my elbows in the same line as my shoulders and wrists and there is no pain, except that in the chest [where is suppose to be].

i like incline flyes, cable flyes every now and then for variety. not a big fan of pec-deck, but once again for variety.

always as my 3rd or last exercise.

I do flys once in a while, but heavy weights kinda bother my shoulders. I love to do cable crossovers, and pec deck I do everyonce in a while. If one was to do flys which way do u recomend, flat, incline, decline. Oh and I heard Arnold used to do a fly but not bring it all the way up, that way there was always tension on the pecs.

Does anyone tryed doing flys before bench press?
I will try it in my next workout.
It seems that way the pecs are tired and the triceps fresh when you hit the press movements allowing to hit the pecs even more...
