I am a 34 yrs old female 5'2", 318lbs been working out for 4 yrs now lost weight long time ago now I'm just fat. I hit the gym 3 times a week lots of cardio and my diet is high protein lots of salads, chicken beans and fish nothing fried when I started working out I was 510+ lbs but for the last 10 months seems I hit my limit as my weight has stayed between 315lbs and 325lbs I see my doctor regularly to make sure my heart and vitals are in check I do have high blood pressure my cholesterol is not so high but I am warned by my doctor I still need to loose weight I want to get to at least 195 lbs I been thinking about taking some steroids to help me loose weight and sculpt a better body then what I had in high school I would not mind the bulging muscles lol I am just starting my research so please be a lil gentle as I have read many post and replies although you guys tell the truth some can be very cruel please help any advise is good and no I can not afford a personal trainer and my insurance does not cover it.

steroids are very bad in your case for a wide variety of reasons. steroids in general are not safe for women because they are male hormones. find out what your BMR is (basic metabolic rate) and eat 500-800 less calories each day than your BMR number. so say your BMR is 2500 calories. that means you need to eat 1700-2000 calories a day. exercise a lot at the gym and burn more calories than you take in. this is how you lose weight. steroids do not make you lose weight.

Yah what rikishi. Consistent excercise (at least 30 consecutive minutes of elevated heart rate) along with good diet (quality ingredients of fewer calories than you burn in a day) over time = weight loss. This is THE magic formula.

Steroids are not magic and in your case would do more harm than good. With high blood pressure and high cholesterol it would honestly probably kill you. There are no shortcuts. Cut your caloric intake as rikishi said I would say step it down to even 1500 cals over the period of a few weeks and do both AM and PM cardio 5-6 days a week. You want great results you have to put out great effort.

I would be very concerned about blood pressure in your case.

I think ArmaniAK is partly right but only in so far as it might be a very good idea to get a complete hormone panel done. You might be hypothyroid and so be able to benefit from thyroid medication such as T3 og T4. I would only consider using these drugs in your case with a doctor's sayso however. I don't think steroids is any feasible solution for you.

Your diet seems ok when it comes to what you eat but how much of it do you eat each day? Rishiki is right when he states that a consistent caloric deficit will make you lose weight. That is basic physics.

Maybe you could up your gym frequency to 6 times 45 min medium to high intensity cardio ew keeping caloric intake constant. That WILL get you results.

I think that half the victory is achieved by adressing the problem in a serious manner which is what you are doing. Good luck.

Wow, you have already lost 200 pounds?
Congratulations, that's a lot of hard work.
Id say continue with your diet, but post up here exactly what you eat and drink every day. You can go online to www.fitday.com it's an online food diary and it's free.
Start bumping up your exercise program maybe. Of course, check with your doctor to be sure that it is OK for you to start doing more demanding cardio/strength training etc.

You've made it this far, you can achieve your goals with knowledge, motivation, and hard work :)
Steroids aren't the answer here though.

You've done great so far. I feel you can reach your goal without the use of aas. In your case the risks out weigh the rewards.

Welcome to Elite msesquisite please use the free week of platnium to search the board.

As many have stated in your case it would be a very bad idea to start taking steroids. Please post up your current diet that is really they most important thing be as specific as possible the qty your eat and at what time as Trex said pop into fit day so we can see your exact macro break down.

The diet my Dr. has me on goes as fallows: (I have not tried any supplements as I was told I'm a high risk and surprisingly not a diabetic and need to loose weight the old fashion way through a good diet and exercise the natural way)

Breakfast:
1 cup steel cut oats, 1 bowl of Total cereal, 1 cup skim milk, 1 banana and 2 ounces of blue berry's, 1 Glass O.J.

Lunch:
Low calorie tortilla wrap made with deli turkey, fat free mayonnaise and tomatoes, Celery or Carrot sticks, 3 cup fat free yogurt, Cambell's chicken noodle soup, Grapefruit juice or 8 ounce water

Dinner:
One cup of whole grain pasta, 1/2 cup marinara sauce, grilled skinless chicken breast or 3 broiled chicken thighs or baked fish (Tilapia or Salmon), Tossed green salad or Salad made with mixed greens and two ounces of cheese , Sauteed mushrooms, baked pinto beans or red beans once a week steak well done, 8 ounce glass of water 1/2 glass red wine with steak only.

Snacks between meals:
1 ounce almonds or 2 apples or oranges or 1/2 lb red grapes or 2 grapefruits(no sugar) or blue berry's or strawberries, 8 ounce glass of water or protein shake (12 ounce protein shakes 2 times a day and 2 gallons of water everyday)

This has been my diet for the past year, my Dr. changes my diet every 8 months it is hard but I only cheated on my diet a few times when I started working out 4 yrs ago when I was told I could die if I have a heart attack. I got serious and have not cheated on my diet or slacked on my work outs since.

As for my work out
My Dr also recommended that I do the Billy Blanks boot camp have been doing that for 2 years now along with the P90X and yoga it is very intense and high cardio

I am determined and motivated, it also helps that my boyfriend supports me and is doing all he can to help me and push me through my work outs he is only 180 lbs and has gotten very serious about his work out as well. Thank you for your honest feed back and for not being cruel but honest with me
