One of the best anti-marriage papers Ive read

"You said yourself that you will get a pre-nup. Therefore the whole idea of marriage(without a pre-nup to ensure it is fair) is flawed.
If you cannot see that the legal agreement of marriage is skewed in a womens favour then you are clueless."

you are generalizing, my friend. women are not always the victors- my mom ended up paying through the nose even though my step dad was an achoholic wife/child beater with a record. there are just as many dead beat dads out there, be it during the marriage or after, as there are spiteful bitches with no legitimate complaints other than their fickle feelings.

you can blame the boy scouts of america for me wanting a pre nup-always be prepared.

I agree with you and that is what I was trying to say earlier that women are not always the victors from divorces. I have friends who never knew their fathers because the fathers have left the woman pregnant and disappeared for 18 years until the children were over the age of alimony so they did not have to pay for their upbringing. This is a cowardly way out.
What are women to do in these cases? The article is clearly not protraying these kind of examples but discusses how women are at the core of divorces most of the time.

Or because marriage is the first word that mothers teach their daughters.

When i grew up my parents always said to me take my time and find the right one. Both my mom and dad educated me while I was growing my (aside from school) and they never shoved marriage down my thorat.

Wonderful response Yasmina - you had far more patience than myself.
Nice response, but that still doesn't change the facts in these scenarios: 1. Wealthy woman marries wealthy man; they have children; they divorce; woman keeps all of her money; man keeps his money; woman gets house, children, car; man pays alimony and child support; woman pays nothing. 2. Woman who has never worked in her life marries well off man; they divorce; man is screwed. 3. Wealthy woman marries man with no money; yeah right. 4. Woman with no money marries man with no money; after two years of marriage they start robbing banks; police chase them; man dies in shootout with police and woman says man forced her in to it and she spends a short term in jail. Who is more at risk?

That's awesome, but I'll bet there's not many like you.

I have no plans on having kids, but that statement reminded me of this girl I work with. For starters, I know this because she told a close friend of hers, who happens to be a close friend of mine. This girl was dating a guy she'd met through another co-worker. They were sexually active, and as they agreed she was on the pill. Well, this girl is nearly 30, and somewhat fearful she'll never get married. So one night she was talking with her boyfriend and asked, "what would you do if I ever got pregnant?". She played it off as just a hypothetical question. He replied with, "I'd do the right thing, I'd marry you". Hhhhmmm, odd that a few months later she got pregnant. She confessed to our friend that she stopped taking the pill shortly after he said he'd marry her if she got pregnant. He still doesn't know that she stopped taking the pill, he just thinks they fell into that one percent or whatever the odds are. They're married now, both appear to be very unhappy (not to mention broke), and my co-workers are taking bets on how long it will last before they are divorced.

He should have said "I'd get the flying fuck out of here and dump you a hot brick, what the fuck would you expect me to do?"

Then either:

A - Don't get fucking married.
B - Don't get anyone knocked up
C - Don't get FUCKING MARRIED.

Oh and have nice holiday...

ALONE.

Anybody else find them selves alone standing right next to their spouse?

Had a lovely holiday though....

As a wedding photographer....I can assure everybody that many dads are ecstatic to hear that some guy is taking their daughter off of their hands and away.
