? on heavy training

My partner and I are training heavy this week and something has come up where we wont be able to make our last day. We still have chest and back to train. My question is this: Is there any drawback to heavy training of 2 large muscle groups in the same session? Should I just drop one muscle group and concentrate on the other? Any feedback is appreciated!

Lots of ppl do chest & back together on a regular basis, so I don't see a problem. If you go VERY heavy on back first, you might have to go relatively lighter on chest, but I don't think it's significantly detrimental.

I am going to be hurtin' when I get home tonite!:D

After warming up (5 min treadmill or bike at very low intensity) and 1st warm-up set, stretch then stretch between sets, that should help you be hurtin' a reasonable amount, but not incapacitated! :)

Thanks Gladi! I just always seem to lose myself in intensity when I train heavy and end up with some soreness the next day. Maybe what I meant to say was I will plenty pumped :D

I rotate with my clients and it works well. Heavy chest and light back one week, then heavy back and light chest the next.
