nycgirl's Food & Training Log

so....tell me:

1 - How is the 5x5 working for you?

2 - How is bodyweight?

3 - Strength?

It is working out really well. I'm glad I doing it. I don't think I ever pushed myself this hard in the gym. I'm amazed at how fast the amount of weight I use for my squats, deadlifts and bench press excercises are increasing. I'm seeing great improvements re: strength, especially in my upper body. I'm definitely gaining muscle in my back and chest.

I'm going to weigh myself on Sat., so I will have to get back to you on my weight. I don't think my weight has changed much, however, I can tell I'm losing body fat. I need to get back to doing the HIIT on a regular basis.

Perfect......I have ALWAYS believed in hitting the gym...hitting it HARD...and then recovering...

WELL DONE

Good Morning everyone!

Slept late and did some chores this morning. Will do the HIIT this evening (I have my gym clothes already laid out - no excuses for me to not get it done).

6:30am - 1 ALA

6:45am - 2 scoops of PP mixed with water

9:30am - 20 almonds and 1 mug of green tea

12:45 - 1 large salad (5 cups of romaine lettuce; 1 cup of grilled chicken breast, 1/2 cup of chopped tomato, 1/2 cup of chopped cucumber, 2T of black beans, 5 broccoli flowerets, 2T of chopped green bell pepper and 2T of low cal. ranch dressing)

Totals (for my reference) - Calories: 721; Carbs - 35; Fats - 25; Protein - 93
Water: Just started my 3rd liter

I must say, I thought I would be starving following Shadow's diet. I'm actually quite full. When I lift, I will add in more carbs (that 5x5 program causes my muscles to beg for food). But this diet will be perfect for my cardio days.

Good morning everyone!

4:45am - 1/4 cup of oatmeal w/ 2 egg whites

5:30am - Workout: Weights & Cardio
Bench Press - 5x5: 20lbs added on
(This was difficult; had to stop after 3 rep of 4th & 5th set to rest and than get the final 2 reps done; Did all of the sets & reps - will go up 5lbs, however, will not be shocked if I have to drop the weight.)
Barbell Rows - 5x5: 20lbs added on (3 sets palms up/2 sets palms down)
(Not hard at all; will increase weight 5lbs)
Deadlifts - 1x20: 30lbs added on
(Easier than the set on Tues.; will increase weight 5lbs next week)
Standing Calf Raises (machine) - 2x20: 80lbs
Hammer Strength Ab Curl Machine - 2x20: 30lbs

Light Cardio (Arc Trainer) - 20 minutes
6:50 - 1 ALA

7:15 - 2 scoops of PP and 2T of oats mixed w/ water

9:15 - 1 cup of sweet potato, 1/3 cup of string beans and 2T of chicken (I wanted this meal to be more carb dense; will definitely get the required amount of protein by the end of the day)

Totals - TBA
Water: 2 liters so far

I do love it. It is now my favorite cardio machine. It makes HIIT more enjoyable. I don't think I will have a problem getting the HIIT done any more. Thanks to you, I rediscovered this machine. I would love to get own one.
