The diet is going to be 80% of your fat loss efforts tho and w/ that intense activity you will need to fuel appropriately. As Anthony said - we really don't know much about you yet - can you check out the stickies above for lots of great reading in general and also give us some basic info to start with? It sounds like even though you've cleaned up your diet, with only 2 meals / day you are seriously undereating. You also need a good balance of protien, fats and yes, carbs. They all serve a purpose.
For a general intro to "diet" and "nutrition" I like to suggest reading Bill Philips' BODY FOR LIFE book - its easier than piecemeal asking & us explaining the different parts of the whole picture. You don't have to use the EAS products he promotes in the book but its a good set of guidelines for a very flexible and liveable diet - mind you that we are talking about establishing some lifestyle changes that will promote fat loss and achievement of your goals - not a concentrated 10 week starvation course. Once you go off that type of extreme program your body will probably rebound like crazy - the point is to do it in a healthy & maintainable way.
Can you list your current diet in detail, e.g.
Meal 1: 8 am
1/2 c oatmeal
3 egg whites
whatever
Meal 2: 11 am
protein shake
Meal 3: 2 pm
4 oz chicken
1/2 c brown rice
etc
Better yet, if you put that meal plan into a food counts program like www.fitday.com (its free, online, takes a few minutes to set up, VERY useful) it will actually show you how much and what you are (and aren't) eating. VERY ILLUSTATIVE of what you really are eating - most people think they are eating "clean" when they may not be, or not eating enough, or too much. Better to quanitify.
Hi Sassy!
Thanks for the info! I have the Body For Life book and have read it. I pretty much know how and what to eat, it's just gettin it all pieced together. I also bought the Xyience protein powder.... looks pretty good.. 1 scoop has: 110 calories, 2g of carbs, 1g sugar, 25g of protein.
So, here is what i plan on starting for Monday for daily meals:
breakfast: 1/4th cup egg beaters, turkey bacon (wondering about the turkey bacon?) in the microwave OR oatmeal and blueberries or stawberries.
mid morning: Xyience shake
lunch: spinach salad with grilled chicken, turkey or fish
mid afternoon: another shake??
Dinner: grilled chicken, fish, ground turkey or lean meat, brown rice ( what about the flavored brown rice by Uncle Ben's??), or veggies or little potato
Pretty much stickin to greens and meats.... Subway here or there, but im trying to keep it to Whole Wheat, which im sure their wheat bread isn't. But their salads are straight.
I take MMA on Tues and Thurs and Jiu Jitsu Mon, Wed and Fri. Would you think that would be considered cardio?? I sure would, so i hope so! Just in MMA, we do six, 2 minute rounds of jump rope and i want to die everytime! I POUR SWEAT!! I would consider everything we do to be the High Impact Cardio that I have been reading about on here.
I guess i just really need a weight lifting regimine. I have a book called the "Womans Fitness Bible" or something like that, i just am not sure what i need to do. I have a big butt and big thighs. Always have. I was a dancer for 13 years but after i stopped, my legs went to shit. I have HORRIBLE thighs and i have lots of cellulite on them. i dont even wear shorts! So, i would say my lower half will be the hardest. I'm going to get my measurements maybe tomorrow and get my body fat calculated Monday at the gym...
So where should i go from here??
