New Gym

JJFigure

New member
My membership at my gym ran out, so I'm trying out a new gym that I primarily looked at because it was much closer to me. I had my first workout today, and discovered they have a REAL hyper extension bench (parallel one), an adjustable bench, 3! power racks (only 1 smith - hehe), one of which should adjust enough for me to be able to comfortably front squat again!

I haven't gotten to train in a gym with a real hyper bench in 2 years! I'm so psyched! I get to do reverse hypers again! Tra la la!

I am so jealous! . I've never even seen a reverse hyper machine. My Y is horribly underequipped. It makes up for it in price, though, so I can't complain

LOL I thought you said THIRTY-ONE power racks. I need new eyes. Three is still damned impressive.

My new gym has a brand new reverse hyper machine. They don't even cost that much. i don't know why more gyms don't have them. Oh wait, yes I do--they need one more peck deck. You can never have enough.

There's also that need to keep buying more swiss balls - every conceivable size.

You gotta love lifting gyms! Why ARE they so hard to find?

Right on JJfigure. Those friggin' swiss balls are every where. I love tripping over them. Heaven forbid the cardio-addict-skinny/fat-puds just do some weight lifting. Eek, don't want to get big and bulky.

I really love my swiss ball. Well, I should say Hannibal's Swiss ball. I use it for inclinde press, over-head medicine ball toss, seated power cleans, straight leg raises, cable ab work, decline push ups, on-and-on...not to mention a million variations of AR work. Too bad my old "fitness center" kept them on a rack on the far wall of the aerobics room. There were always these dancing women blocking my access to them...you know the ladies...the ones that always look the same?

....ouch.

LOL, 31! :p Anyway, 3 is certainly better than 0 (well OK, I don't count that Smith machine in our gym as a power rack .. It's good to store your weight plates on and to lend against while chatting, that's all ...) I tried to convince my gym owner to buy a power rack, but he won't, because he's afraid people will use wrong form on squatting (in Smith machine you're OBLIGED to use wrong form on that one  ) and he doesn't think he could get/keep more members with a power rack .. Mmmm, he might be surprised on that one (new members), IF he would just buy one :(
