Need Diet Help for a friend-Daisy,velvett

Hey all I need help for my friend she has just registered as ditzy, but cannot post yet. She has been losing weight and cannot seem to gain no matter how much she eats and is always hungry :worried: . She eats every 2-3 hours or drinks an Ensure type drink or protein. She is starting to work out but that excelerates weight loss, she is naturally thin any ways. Mainly she seems to be losing muscle more than fat. Her ratio is aprox. 50% carbs 25% fat 25% protein. I want feminine advice for her on Diet, training and ancillaries, She'll be checking this thread and posting when her priviliges are activated. Would love to hear the women Vets on this:

Age 30
Height 5'5"
Weight 100lbs
Classic Ectomorph

Before anything I have to ask - what does her diet consist of food wise and approximately how many calories is she consuming in total? She could just be eating the wrong foods and/or not enough.

And when you say work out is she lifting, doing cardio, some sort of floor exercise or a combination? How many days, etc.
 
Lifting and pilates, I am working on what she eats but don't know her cal. count yet she hasn't tracked. however I have seen her down about 1500 cal give or take mostly like above a little low on the protein for days in a row. What type of cal. is maint. for a light exercise female with a semi active job at 5'5 and 100- she looked best at 115-120. You ladies have lower cal needs and burn different than the guys.She cut back on weights when she started losing weight and feeling tired all the time.I'll have her post for you.
 
Is she having a thyroid issue? I'd urge her to consider seeing a doctor. 5'5" and 100lbs is, IMHO, approaching something dangerous. Her BF has got to be extremely low. Something must be going on...
 
Stopping weight training is the last thing she wants to do. Stopping cardio is the first thing she should do.

Until we see EXACTLY what she is eating, it is hard to judge if that is her problem. We need to see an EXACT day's worth of food and training.

It could be the calories are fine, but the food choices are poor.

With the very limited info given, it does sound like there is an underlying medical issue. This weight losss started all of a sudden? Has it happened before?

With the weight loss, constant hunger, fatigue - it could be a medical problem. I would get her bloodwork done ASAP to rule out any issue.

Also, if the weight loss is sudden has she notice any other changes in her body or functions? Dry skin, hair, slow healing on cuts and bruises, numbness or constantly cold hands arms, legs or feet?
 
Thanks ladies she wnet to a doctor but I don't know about her test results yet.It has been over the space of about a month and a half,can't wait until her account activation works so she can talk to you direct, she tried posting and it denied her. :worried: K to you ladies
