Anyone dump out the oil in peanut butter? If the oil that sits on the top of natural Peanut Butter (i.e. Crazy Richard's) is dumped out, how much fat could be reduced? Any guesses? :spin:

I stir it in as well.

Fat has really gotten a bad reputation in the last twenty years, so many foods have become low fat, and people have gotten fatter.

good fats...in controlled amounts

For optimal health, people should rethink their ANPB consumption, at least in large quantities.

A third of its fat is omega 6. No omega 3.

The desirable omega 6/3 is thought to be 2/1. Given consumption of grains, particularly oats (yielding 2.6 grams per cup), and non-fishy meats, eggs, most people's 6/3 ratio is very poor.

Most nuts just add to the problem (exception macadamia, which if people want monounsaturated fats, are the best source, containing very few polyunsaturated fats, and therefore being a more stable cooking oil)

Therefore, for me ANPB is an occasional fat source, and I tend to permit myself to eat it mainly because I consume salmon 4 times per week at least. Macadmia is the best source for monounsaturated fat, yielding almost no omega 6 .
