My sister wants to lose weight, please help.

I have no clue what diet to put her on. She is 15, 5'9" and 145. Im thinking CKD, but im not sure that all of that protien is necessary. She doesnt train, but she will be doing some cardio. What Should her macros look like, Muscle loss is not an issue.
Any help would be greatly aprecciated.
 
Muscle loss IS ALWAYS an issue, not sure what you mean there. Losing weight and losing fat are two totally different entities.

Go for the latter! What good would it be for her to lose "weight", and be a skinnier "just as fat" person? Meaning she lost equal lean mass to fat, and her bodyfat percentage is exactly the same. Then, when she resorts to "normal" eating or letting go a bit, watch out, talk about balloon city. With even less lean muscle mass to burn Kcals, she now doesn't even have the metabolism she once did.

What, I meant is, that i dont Think that she should take in as much protien as a guy who has muscle to maintain. All of her muscle is natural, and so she does not need to eat as much protein to keep it.

She wants to lose as much fat as possible by new years. I was going to put her on a diet like ckd, with protien shakes and Flax oil and vitamins. She finds it hard to know what to eat, so this shake diet would be the easiest. Would this be bad even if she took in all the vitamins she needed from suppliments?
 
atkins diet is hte best choise, she wont starve herself on this one,
i think people loose 7 to 10 lbs on the first 2 weeks not sure though.

Here is some easy advice: she's 15 she does NOT need to go on a CKD. Your best bet is to look at her diet right now and try to take some general things out: i.e. Bread, pasta, candy etc... You'd be surprised how much weight she can lose from just changing her current diet a little.
