my pseudo ME upper day

im dabbling in the intricacies of WSB so today was ME day for bench. so i chose 2 board press. nonerz and i set off with 2x6's in hand...er... on chest.

i thought 2 boards was right around my sticking point....but managed to blow past 295 and 315. ummm....my 1RM is currently 275...so hmmm... hehe. fun!

nonerz had trouble letting the bar sink into the boards. she was anxious to press. but managed to get to 125 for 1. (we'll work on that)

im off to read how ME days go again. not sure if we did it right.

we got some strange looks though setting boards on our chest.

Till you find your weakness...and then it will be GREAT!!! Learn to focus on your weak exercises...till you can't survive without doing them. You think about them many times a day and how you will NOT suck at that exercise any more...you REFUSE to!!!

you will only be humiliated IF you judge yourself by other's accomplishments. why put yourself down for something someone else did or can do, why not bring yourself up by how much you have accomplished or will accomplish?

the intent of this thread was not to humiliate, but to "join in", so to speak, the discussion.

having read the "common mistakes" article over at elite, i know now we need to do more volume and smaller jumps in weight.

oh, BTW my bench has ALWAYS sucked....and thats comparing it to EVERYONE ELSE. ive had weekend warriors out bench me in weight and reps. thats where you have to look at yourself and ask, "what have i done to improve it?". up til lately, i'd done essentially nothing.

me too nate........... ill brag about my ohp, but i cower when anyone ask what i bench....... its almost embarrasing. i look like i should be so much stronger.......

so i read that article too....... (he he .... i have it saved on my computer) so i am taking that approach as well. i belive it will help a ton.

I just expect to have made more progress than that by now...
