Tonight I went 650 with wraps only on the squat which is my lifetime PR. And it felt easy and fast too! I stopped lifting in 1992 and could then do a 750lb squat in competition with full doulbe-ply suit. Tonight, after the 650lb I suited up (single ply) and went 715lb below parallel with probably another 25lb left in me. This has been my best workout since making a comeback in 1999.
I'm always happy when a fellow board member posts a PR but have been slightly jealous lately as I thought I'd never see the day again that I could do the same.
My partner for the last 2 years also got a PR of 550 @ 220lb tonight which also looked very easy. We are both preparing for our IPF Nationals on 13 July so we've only got 1 more workout on each lift left before the big day.
What I'm even more proud of is that since 1992, I haven't touched any juice whatsoever. When I started again from scratch in 1999 I had no idea that I could ever come remotely close to my roid-assisted weights ever again. Now, I know that it can be done and maybe very soon too.
Sorry about this self-indulgent post but I've got nobody else to share this with. Whether I told my wife that I squatted 700lb or 7000lb she would not know the difference!
