I am going to go lift weights tomorrow for the first time in a few months.... The last time I worked out after such a long time off, my muscles were so sore that I could barely move. In particular, my biceps were so tight that I couldn't straighten my arms... Actually, not only could I not straighten them, I pretty much had to keep them totally bent at all times... Bending them even slightly resulted in severe pain.

Does anyone know if that is bad when you're muscles get THAT sore after a workout??? I know that it's good for your muscles to be sore after a workout, but I am thinking that when the soreness gets to the point of extreme pain and discomfort... That means you've over done it.

Does anyone know for sure if that it bad news to make your muscles hurt that much?

It's not bad in the sense that you've injured yourself or anything. Soreness, even that severe, always goes away.

I'd suggest starting out with lighter weights since it's been so long. Don't go in there like you never left. Ease back into it. You'll be sore regardless, but maybe you can save yourself some pain that way.

yeah.. You really need to go in a little slower, dont try to do so much.

I remeber the first time i ever worked out.. Everytime I walked i got a very sharp sering pain.. I thought i would never be able to walk the same way again. Well i guess i never really walked the same after that..

Go slow when you get in the gym, go like you have never been there before.. seriously, it wont be that hard when you go in the next day..

plan to go workout the day after aswell..
