Morons at the gym (the official thread)...

haven't you heard? pepsi is the best post workout drink now. The protein and BCAA's it contains outweigh any other workout drink. lol

I just joined a different gym and tonight I was doing some cardio. When I finished I went and got a drink at the water fountain and looked over in the free weight area and what did I see? You got it two guys standing by the squat rack with a bar on the floor in front of it obviously not doing squats! I think they were doing cleans or something. Im glad Wed is not my leg day!;) I can say Im guilty of it too but I used to work nights and nobody was around when I did. Worked out in the mornings. I wish I still worked nights.

So the other day I was at my terrible gym and there was a fairly small kid benching. He loaded up 225 lbs without even warming up so while I was squatting I kept my eye on him because I still have some hopes there are some moderately strong people at my university. He brings the weight down like 3 inches if that and busts out 5 reps then he went down a little too far and it just dropped on his chest and he was just sitting there trapped under the bar. Me and another guy ran over and lifted it off him, and then he went down to one plate with still shitty ass form .

..ditch my ego and work my body correctly.
x2

I love it when doing my 7th set of dumbell curls, after doing 8 sets of barbell curls, some kid walks up and grabs the same weight dumbells and bangs out 3 or 4 reps, puts them down and looks at me like it's no big deal, with that being his first and maybe only set. Part of me wants to say "that was my 15th set and I did double the reps you did" but I just keep to myself as usual.

Ditto on the half rep wonders but did you ever have one of those idiots ask you to spot them? I never know where the friggin bar is going to stop, they usually end up doing a full rep if I spot them :).

ok so this Ronnie coleman bent over row thing with a barbell and you load up 45s...I don't know the history of that excersize..but when there's 2 140 lb gentlement loading a 25 lb weight on the bar showing a 90 pound 5 foot nothing girl how important it is...She does 0 reps.. Then stacked it up for themselves..2 45's 90 lbs Cool I dont' care weight is weight

WAIT 20 minutes later..They are STILL staring at her talking and laughing in the squat rack....30 minutes later they walk away without touching the weight. Leaving a friggen mess.THEN

They put a rubber band on the bench press. to show her how to do twists or whatever that exersize is called I don't care...There's 4 machines MADE FOR THAT!!!! Not sure if this is the proper forum to vent that..but..I needed too.

why do asshats take the only set of dumbells over to the bench press when there are numerous regular benches sitting right in front of the dumbells ? I have no problem asking people to work in with them , but he takes them way too far away.

15th set of curls =o. No offense but that qualifies for this thread.

No offense taken at all. How many sets do you do for biceps? That really isn't a lot for you guys is it? I sometimes do more than that. I do a bodybuilding workout, a lot of sets, slightly lighter weight, more reps and very little rest, with the exception of power movements like benching or legpress I rest a little longer on those. I am always sucking wind hard between sets.

Here's my shoulder workout;

5 sets of seated lateral dumbell raises
5-6 sets of (dumbell) front raises
5-6 sets of bent over dumbells lateral raises
5 sets of seated dumbell press
5 sets of upright barbell rows
There is a machine in my gym that is for working your rear delts in a seated position and I do 4-5 sets on that.

I suppose that's unbelievable too?

And I go to the gym in the AM before work to do my abs as well as doing my "regular" workout after work. I workout 6 days a week.
