*MonStar1023 Shift Diet Journal*

Whatsup everyone? I have decided to start another Shift Diet Journal in here. Many of you probably saw my first diet journal, and I fucked it all up and ended it. As many of you know Mr.X created a new diet called the Shift Diet. I am going to give it a run-through and see what happens.

If you take a look at the diet yourself, there are three stages to the diet. Stage 1 is the carb-up stage, and stages 2 and 3 are both low-calorie, low-carb, stages- designed for fat-loss. The outline of the Shift Diet is as follows..

Stage 1 = S1
Stage 2 = S2
Stage 3 = S3

WEEK 1.... 2.... 3.... 4
DAY 1 S1...S3...S1...S1
DAY 2 S2...S3...S3...S2
DAY 3 S2...S1...S3...S2
DAY 4 S2...S2...S2...S2
DAY 5 S2...S2...S2...S2
DAY 6 S3...S2...S2...S3
DAY 7 S3...S2...S2...S3

Mr.X recommends in the diet that you start off with Stage 1, however, he includes to start on Stage 1 if your coming from a low-calorie phase. Well unfortunately these past 2 days for me have been binge/carb-up days. Complete pigfests of sugary and fatty foods. So I am going to start on Stage 2, then move onto Stage 3 etc. My intake of food will be as follows..

Stage 1..
Approximately 3700 calories
Approximately 215g of protein
Approximately 550g of carbs
Approximately 65g of fat

Stage 2..
Approximately 2650 calories
Approximately 150g of protein
Under 20g of carbs
Approximately 215g of fat

Stage 3..
Approximately 2000 calories
Approximately 150g of protein
Trace amount of carbs
Approximately 155g of fat
:D:D

Wish me luck on this diet!! Mr.X PLEASE lemme know if I am making a mistake by starting with Stage 2... the only reason that I dont think I am is because Stage 1 is for glycogen repletion and the past 2 days I have eaten so much shit my glycogen is definitely filled! I will be training during Stage 2 of this diet, and doing cardio everyday during Stages 2 & 3.

Wish me luck!!

This morning I woke up and weighed around 219 lbs... my GOAL weight after these 8-12 weeks will be around 190-195 lbs. and VERY LEAN. Right now I am holding a LOT of water from these last 2 BINGE DAYS which were definitely a mistake because now I feel FAT as can be. I also measured my waist which was 37.5" which is WAY too fucking big!!

Cardio.
25 minutes of the stationery bike first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

Diet. Stage 2.
Total Calories: 1200
Total (g) Protein: 56g
Total (g) Carbs: 8g
Total (g) Fat: 93g

Sleep.
8 hours of sleep last night. Need to keep sleep up to really ensure proper recovery.

Supplements.
Good multi-vitamin 2x today, Xenadrine 2x today, 45 minutes before cardio and training, 10g of creatine immediately after workout.

Training. Chest, Abs.
low-incline dumbbell presses 80x10; 80x9; 80x8
weighted dips 45x8; 45x8; 45x8
low-incline dumbbell flyes 60x8; 60x8; 60x8
crossbench dumbbell pullovers 70x10; 70x10; 70x10
seated leg tucks (bodyweight) 15x15x15
(supersetted with)
decline crunches (bodyweight) 20x20x20

Training Comments.
Workout went really really well. My chest got a good pump and a good overall workout. Incline presses really hit my pecs hard and so did dips. Both really torched my pecs and exausted all areas of my pecs. Flyes and pullovers really stretched out my pecs all the way. Pullovers hit serratus and intercostals hard as well. Abs got a great burn and feeling of exaustion.

Training Length.
Workout lasted around 35 minutes today... brief and definitely intense. :D:D

Water.

Everything got all fucked up last time around... I fucked up on the carb-up without enough protein, my calories were too low during stage 2.. I went to the beach  and there were absolutely NO low-carb foods down there. That fucked everything up completely. I just messed the whole thing up. I am seriously goin to stick to it this time around.
:D:D

Thanks for posting this diary. I just got through reading some of Mr. X's posts and the guy seems to eally know his shit. Then I find out he's taking a leave due to personal problems - hope the guy is ok, I'd like to see him come back real soon. :(

I'll be tuning in to see how it works out, MonStar. Best of luck, stay focused, you can do it!

Cheers,

QuoVadis

I don't know about that... 1200 calories is VERY little for someone who weighs 219 now. Even for someone at 190, 1200 calories will not even maintain body weight. I would drive the healthy road to getting cut: do it slower. Cut back a little then let your body level out... then repeat. The drastic cutting of calories will only lead to a temporay loss of fat. The second you eat more the fat will come right back. Also, watch how much fat you are intaking. I know to hit a caloric goal you have to bump fat up if you take carbs out, but a lot of fat is not good for you heart and veins. If you do decide to go with your original plan, after you reach your goal I would get a blood test and have the cholestrol and all other important things checked out, just to make sure you are cut AND healthy. Just a suggestion though.

PS do you have any recent pictures of your self... I want to see this 37 inch waist body. :D
