ME Upper today. Did all OHP'ing with the log to get more comfortable with it. Didn't hit the weights I would have liked to, but I can see I will after some practice with the log.
Several videos today of clean and pressing with the log. First time with any real weight on it. Need some serious critiquing guys.
Warmup
DB Cleans - 1x20
Lateral raises - 2x15
Light stretching
Log Clean and Press
125x3
155x3
175x3
195x1 - Missed the second and third reps.
Log Strict OHP
130x8
130x6
130x5
Log OHP Lockouts - Chain Suspended
155x3x3
1st set
Face-Pulls - From below shoulders
4x15 - Light bands
CG Press- Index on smooth, 30 secs between sets
185x3x5
Tri Pull-downs - 30 secs between sets
3x15 - Green band looped on top and bottom.
All log work was PR's.
(I got the log Monday.)
From what I could see on my videos, I think I need to pull the log closer in to my hip crease before rolling it up. I
think I looked like I was trying to curl it to much. Feedback from anyone is much appreciated.
Felt pretty good overall. I won't do lockouts with the log again unless I am really bored. I didn't really feel it in my tri's, but it seemed to really hit my upper back.
Finished the night off with a foot-long sub and an ice cold Budweiser.
