ME Upper - Log practice - Vids

ME Upper today. Did all OHP'ing with the log to get more comfortable with it. Didn't hit the weights I would have liked to, but I can see I will after some practice with the log.
Several videos today of clean and pressing with the log. First time with any real weight on it. Need some serious critiquing guys.

Warmup
DB Cleans - 1x20
Lateral raises - 2x15
Light stretching

Log Clean and Press
125x3
155x3
175x3
195x1 - Missed the second and third reps.:(


Log Strict OHP
130x8
130x6
130x5

Log OHP Lockouts - Chain Suspended
155x3x3
1st set

Face-Pulls - From below shoulders
4x15 - Light bands

CG Press- Index on smooth, 30 secs between sets
185x3x5

Tri Pull-downs - 30 secs between sets
3x15 - Green band looped on top and bottom.


All log work was PR's.:D (I got the log Monday.)
From what I could see on my videos, I think I need to pull the log closer in to my hip crease before rolling it up. I
think I looked like I was trying to curl it to much. Feedback from anyone is much appreciated.

Felt pretty good overall. I won't do lockouts with the log again unless I am really bored. I didn't really feel it in my tri's, but it seemed to really hit my upper back.

Finished the night off with a foot-long sub and an ice cold Budweiser.

looool why dont you just do everything with the log. use it for squats and deadlifts too

Actually, I plan to try front squats with it on my next ME Lower. I can't hold a bar comfortably, but the log will sit nicely on my chest, and will be much easier on my wrists.
Should be interesting...
 
Nice job man. I like the idea of those chain suspended lockouts.

we are gonna have a log and yolk very soon.

I like the lockouts with a bar better than with the log. Felt really different with the log.

Working the upper back huh? :) Weakness that needs to be addressed.

The log takes a few weeks to get used to because it really is different from a regular bar.

It does look like the balance would be a lot different from a bar.

Yeah, I didn't expect to feel the lockouts so much in my upper back. Very different from the bar, for sure.

Also, it was only the lockouts that I felt like that. I thought that was strange.
