Maynard from Tool and an on stage takedown

there was an april fools day joke about maynard finding jesus... all just a joke though.

Got ya. Thanks for clearing that up. B/c if he did find Jesus, then the pieces that fit in Schism just wouldn't fit like he thought.

it will never happen.

I have heard some shitty sound quality before but good lord.

I still don't see the obsession with Tool by so many people. Expand your horizons. I mean sure, they aren't that bad, they have some quality stuff, but I don't see the obsession.

its a bootleg video, you can't blame the sound quality on the band.

And the obsession with Tool comes from this. What do you see flooding the market today? Some decent singles, but bands that are groomed from day 1 to be served up like fast food, instant gratification. Musicians are supposed to be artists. Are the Backstreet boys artists??? these people are hand picked and groomed to fill a certain spot in the market, a demographic, music quality is far down on the list. When you see a band that actually treats what they do as art, its refreshing.

Yeah I know it's a bootleg, but even for a bootleg that is piss poor.

And don't ask me about bands on the "market." That is an oxymoron. As yuppie as it sounds, most good bands aren't on your markets and mainstream radio stations. If you want to talk good bands that have mainstream success, then yeah, I totally agree Tool is one of the better ones. If you want to talk bands that are truly good, regardless of mainstream success, then I wouldn't go so far. To be successful to the masses, you typically have to dumb it down enough for everyone to digest it upon one or two listens. I wouldn't group Tool into that category by any means, they are from from it, but when comparing them to bands of that ilk they are clearly going to be superior. There are plenty of bands out there that do it for the sake of the art, and do it very well.

Again, I think Tool is a good band, I really liked Undertow and Aenima, but I wasn't enamored by them.
