Ladies.....posting for my wife.....

encourage her to be more concerned with body fat % and looking good in clothes...not weight...women always have a hard time with this...it's like we are programmed to think that the lower the # on the scale the better...this is totally wrong...it would be a shame for her to lose all that beautiful muscle just for the sake of seeing the scale drop by 10 or so lbs...i think she would feel better and look better if she worked to hold on to the muscle that she does have and try to drop that bodyfat %...in the process she is going to lose a little muscle anyways, it's inevitable...what are your wife's stats besides the 139lbs for weight...height, bf%, etc...and encourage her to join the boards...i learned more from this site than from any fitness/nutritional expert i've ever talked to....it's amazing

Oh no.....she can't join the boards.....I'm an idiot on here.....LOL....j/k.

She's 5'6", I believe...nto sure of her BF...I'll try and find my calipers and check it.

5'6'' at 139 lbs is not really bad at all if her bf% is relatively low...i'm 5'7'' (well almost) and i weigh about 127lbs. at about 18-19% bf....and i don't really have that much muscle...i would really like to maintain a decent bf% and gain about 6-8 lbs of pure lean muscle...if your wife has a good amount of muscle like you say she does, then she prob just needs to drop a little fat...probably not as much as she thinks she does...

Just her bf is so localized......that is the hard part....tapping into it.

I have the same problem, my upper body gets lean and muscular and my bottom half lags no matter how hard I train and eat clean. It finally came down slowly when I stayed consistant w/training, diet and Sprints. When I was trainingw/ a trainer 2 years ago he told me the only thing that would help w/the bottom half was cytomel and Anavar.

this is Mrs. Junts talking btw :) Is there any truth to this ladies? that one can only get so lean due to genetics? my thighs and butt seem to hold fat no matter what, would AAS help this or lipo?

Agree with Ladybug on the HIIT. It is AWESOME. ALso less catabolic, which will help her retain muscle mass. Longer duration cardio is hell on muscle. :(

Lower body fat will come off, it just takes longer. Help her work through the frustration and not give up. HIIT will help, especailly running/sprinting or the Step Mill. Plyometrics also help. Is there a 'Boot Camp' type class at your gym? That might be a fun way to change her cardio.

Daisy....I'm showing her your progress thread......I'm sure that will inspire her quite a bit...she really has been busting her butt and that will even make the drive more intense.

The funny thing is we are probablt going to try and start to have another baby in a few weeks...she just wants to have less work to do after the baby.

Mrs. jnuts.....good question about the var....I've ran that across my wife....she isn't interested in that at this point.....but who knows down the rode,......I'd like to know as well.

i would lay off the anavar unless she is trying to compete or something like that...i know var is mild compared to others as far as side effects go...but why run the risk when you don't need to/have to...i definitely think you need to get as far as you possibly can without the assistance of AAS...that should always be a last resort...have you tried anything similar to that topical gel stuff people on here were talking about a while back...supposed to target burn fat on the area where you rub...i personally don't know anything about it but it might be an option....i would try the diet and HIIT cardio first...good luck
