:fro: Hey everyone..i have a question. i trust everyone in here. you all seem to know what your talking about. well, im on the atkins diet. its my 6th day, i am in ketosis and have lost 4lbs already. i feel good, not really deprived or anything. i have been eating a few meals a day. because starving doesnt work. i know that. i dont feel really tired either. i feel a bit "backed" up, but not badly though. also, i am taking xendrine. i just started exercising again on monday. so, i guess my question to you all is this:confused: what kind of cardio should i do and how much. i mean, i dont want to over do it and then i end up not wanting to exercise. i walked for 35 minutes yesterday and jogged. then the last five minutes i kinda jumped around and just played around, kinda keep the heart rate up. i also started lifting. but since im trying to burn fat, should i lift heavy or light. im really serious this time. i know i can do it..but i just need a little help. so, let me know what you all think. im really motivated..it all just clicked. enough is enough. you know! i know i can do this..ive been going good for 6 days and my cravings are subsidding. can you only really take 4 xendrines a day? cause now, its like it doesnt really pump me up before my workout. and what about rollerblading good cardio? and lastly..(lol, finally, i babble on alot) hydrocycut..whats the deal w/ that. good, bad..xendrine or hydroycut???? let me know. all opinons are wanted and needed. okay.

talk to you later

Ok, let's me start off by saying, congrats. on starting a 'Ketonic' diet. It's hard work, so I give you 2 thumbs up ;)

Now, as far as your workout regiment:
Example: (only while in ketosis)

Mon: Am morning empty stomach->20ming cardio
walking, running, jogging, etc.
Then, afternoon, or whenever you workout, do-> Chest, Back, shoulder, arms (traps) (I would say 2 sets per body part is sufficient)

Tue: Same AM cardio
Workout-> calfs, hams, quads, abs, (lower back)

Wed: 30min cardio AM
35min cardio Pm

Thur: 35min cardio AM
40min cardio PM

Fri: 30 min cardio AM

Sat: rest
Sun: rest

Now, as far as supplement, I'd say all the brand names, plainly "SUCK" for the price they charge. I would recommend going out and buying plain Ephedrine and Some coffee and mixing the two. Have a cup of coffee with 25mg ephedrine in the morning 15 min prior to your AM cardio and the same combo prior to your workout. (I think twice a day a sufficient)

I would also like to tell you that, staying in 'Ketosis' for too long is not a feasible idea. Try, staying in 'Ketosis' for about 12 day then have a 2 day "carb-up". Where you would have carbs to refill muscle glycogen stores. I would recommend BodyOpus by Dan Duchaine, a very good CKD book , or a McDonald book.

I can set up a carb-up for you, but again, it depends on your choice, wheather to carb-up or not.

Read WorLobo's post on cardio "When 30 + 30" on the Women's board. You're better off doing one long session of cardio instead of splitting into 2 sessions.

20 minutes of cardio barely gets you into fat-burning. Like I said, read that post.

Rollerblading is good. The best cardio is the one you can stick with.

Always lift heavy. Light weights and high reps don't do jack.

On a keto diet-make sure you drink enough water. it'll help with your lower GI problem, and also you need the water to metabolize the fat and protein you're eating.

Also, please use the space bar next time you post. I need white spaces to read the message!

wow. thats lots of cardio. lol. but i guess i hve to do what i have to do, right. i really hate coffee and can not drink it. it makes me sick..so, now what? and also, i start work at 5a..so am workouts...lol..i really dont get to do them. i get off at 1p. what about a midafternoon workout and a late evening workout? would that work or come close to it?

i plan on sticking to the low carb diet for a while. i feel alot better. i really do. according to atkins you can stay on the "induction" diet longer then 2 weeks if you have more wt8 to lose and i have a signifact amount. lol. so, i'd like to stay on the keto thing for like a month to 1.5 months. my b.fat was a icky 49.9 according to my scale, its 49.1 now. so, that gave me a little motivation. you know. so...what do you think.

Instead of coffee use green tea. It's really healthy and somhow it promotes fat loss. (don't flame me on this one, only a rumor I have heard from many different sources, don't know exactly how it does it)

If 20min of cardio are done on an empty stomach AM they are surely a way to promote fat-loss. (plus AM cardio will help you promote and stay in ketosis)

A lot of people cannot stand 60min of straight cardio, it really depends on the person. I like long sessions but for a begginer it's different. I would recommend splitting them if you have time. If not, just do a long one in the morning. All depends on you... Plus, 30+30 does equal 60 , especially in a ketonic state.
