Just a reminder, dont eat whole eggs

I'm sorry ,it's the American Heart Association not FDA. I avoid these foods when I can and my cholesteral was 126,141, and 171 the last year. It was after fasting for 14 hours. The first reading I was on cholesteral lowering medicine then I heard that is tough on your liver but the next 2 were after I quit the medicine.

HGH MAN, are you eating processed foods? Are you on any gear? What is your HDL and LDL? Do you eat alot of high saturated fat foods? High sugar?

80% chol your body makes, the rest you get from food. Try eating 10whole eggs a day for 2-3 months, and do this 3 times per year and then see if your cholesterol level will go up. Mine did. Try it and see.

I hate to inform you, but you are wrong.

Your cholesterol went up due to the satuarted fat in eggs, not from the cholesterol.

I don't want this to seem like 20 questions, but there are alot of things I don't know about your lifestyle.

Make sure you are getting enough EFA's and healthy fats. These have a large impact on your lipid profile.

Eat the lowest GI carbohydrates you can find.

Do you smoke?

Does high cholesterol run in your family? And if so, did they live a healthy lifestyle?

You say you take GH. I don't know what kind of doses you are taking and I won't claim the following as fact since I have not used it, but I have read that it can cause insulin resistance, and that would definitely have an impact on cholesterol. But you might want to get more info about that from someone w/ more experience.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

All I'll say on this is what I know from medical studies and pharmacy school... high cholesterol is predominantly hereditary, not dietary. I've seen several patients come in with lipid levels in the 600's, and even with diet and exercise they don't drop below 400... it takes heavy medications to even get them down to 250-300. Then there are people like my brother, who drink whole milk, eats butter literally by the stick, and weighs 115lbs with cholesterol of about 130. Sure, eggs are bad IF you already have a problem, but if you aren't predisposed to high cholesterol, eggs in moderation, like almost anything else, are beneficial.

It is true that some foods affect cholesterol levels. Now the difference is in the genetics of every person. You can have a big fat ass dude with normal cholesterol levels. And you can have me, athletic, fit, eating well but with high LDL and low HDL.
