well, the hostage takers wanted the Russian Gov't to let go of some prisoners or something. Putin basically said, "Go fuck yourself," and told his police or military whoever it was to go in and free the hostages. they decided to use gas to gas everybody and put them to sleep before breaking down the doors but they used a little too much gas and everybody died. the russians made a boo boo. oopsie, our bad.
