It Went Bye-Bye

I have a question, it's not really on the subject of fitness, well it kind of is!

I just found out that I am pregnant. I have been going to the gym religiously for just a little under a year. My bodyfat is at 19%

How does one give all that up for 9 months? Can you still lift weights, run, snow ski, can I still stay on a eat low carb/high protien diet?

I just got to the point where I am looking pretty good!

To top it all off I am not married, but have been living with the b-friend for two years?

How do you know when you are ready to have children???

I don't know to what to do????

I don't have children, so I can't be of much help, but I'm sure you will get plenty of replies.

Regarding being "ready", I remember my Mom saying, "If you wait till you're 'ready' to have children, you'll never have children." :D
Best of luck!

It would be some time in September; I'm only 4 weeks along! I got pregnant on New Years Eve (go figure)

I'm just really scared!

Exercise wise, you can still do pretty much what you've been doing if you're in shape. Forget about 19% bodyfat for a while, but you'll see it again after it's all over.

I've trained women to 8 1/2 months. Still did the 50 rep set on leg presses with 360.

No do not stay on a low-carb diet...you are no longer trying to lose bodyfat..you are eating for nutrition of that baby!!! That doesn't mean go out and everything in sight...keep your diet clean but take in plenty of good complex carbs...you can still workout when you are going to have a baby...take is easy and just don't over do it. How do you know when you are ready? Well that is something you are supposed to decide before you get pregnant...but if that is not the case you will have to become ready....it will change your life and probably for the better. It is scary but it is wonderful as well. Read some books and get yourself to a goo doctor to start getting ready for the baby. Does your boyfriend know? Were you guys using protection of any sort?

You can still train moderately, but eat a healthy diet and don't use diet supplements. In my old gym their was a woman who trained up to her delivery. She was amazing, almost scary. On leg day she would even squat! I shit when I seen this and thought that kid was going to drop right there. My wife didn't start training untill after our daughter was born but if she was in the shape she is now and became pregnant (not likely since the tubes are tied) I would let her train but much lighter. BTW, congratulations you have created a new life and not everybody can do that!

I didnt lift weights with each pregnancy....but I walked every day religiously. Its so good to get everything circulating and to get your ass moving :)

And get off that diet like New@ said.....you are growing a baby.....CONGRATULATIONS !!!

I would of loved to of seen Spatts running at 7 mo......my god she is a superwoman :D

Gotta color those hair locks black for Spatts Nub :) And stuff a cotton ball in her shirt....and then we would have the mental picture.
