my fiance had a depo provera shot 2 months ago and she gaind 15 lbs on it. she is going to be on the pill instead from now on.

will provion get rid of the excess estrogen?

I am using my husbands user name, you can call me citrine. I don't know about getting the estrogen out, but did the doctor tell you that they don't know for sure how long depo stays in your system and that it could stay in for as long as two years.

I had a shot 3 1/2 years ago and I swear it took all of two years for me to get rid of the back lash. That stuff is aweful.

I might know someone who can help you. I'll be in touch.

Okay, let's think here for a minute. I don't know much about proviron but you are wanting to use it as an antiestrogen along with a BC pill that most likely contains estrogen. Could this be a recipe for an unplanned pregnancy?????

I don't know enough about it to give you an opinion. I have read most of your posts and am concerned about the direction your girl is heading. It seems that you are trying to combine way to many drugs when her goals are so achievable with few or none. I seriously question your willingness to go ahead and mix proviron with a BC pill - it may be fine but from just what I have been able to gather by doing a search it would seem there are some contraindications. I really don't get the impression that you are taking the good advice that you are getting here very seriously - not flaming you. Just telling you that perhaps you need to take a long hard look at things before the two of you turn her into a chemical cocktail.

The boss, my wife pointed me here, OK the problem being that depo is a progesterone based drug and it wreaks havoc on the body. Yes on the end run it has a high conversion to estrogen but which is causing the end result remains to be seen. Suggestion on the milder side of proviron would Vitex (chasteberry) and maybe a little nolvadex to block estrogen rec. Proviron might help by added androgen levels to override elevated progesterone and estrogen levels, but at what cost????? Btw has her sex drive decreased from the depo???? Also talk her OB try to get a pill with lower levels of progesterone.

Depo, "the Pill", and AS

I've been reading about the different things you two want to do. Please, by no means, should you take this wrong. It is not cool to be a chemistry project as a female. If I remember, she's 20? 3rd or 4th cycle? There will be a cause with some serious affects.(is it the A or the E effect? duh...)

Anyway, I am no scientist, doc, nothing. Just a woman whose been there. If she's doing a cycle, why birth control? Wear a condom. She will be a raging lunatic with way too many hormones floating around. If she's doing depo and "stuff", she's on her way to a complete chemical imbalance.

That depo is dangerous. The pill isn't cool either. Stay away from doing AS and birth control. She may be on her way of being diagnosed as Bi-Polar. Watch the mood swings. The shot will stick w/ her for a bit and the primo. What type of primo?

All in all, I'm just saying she should take it slow. Try not taking BC while cycling. Above all, no chemistry projects. Research, research, research...

Torchy:)
