Is it ok to drink tea to chase down supplements?

I drink a lot of tea during the day, and sometimes I use it to chase down my pills and caps (supplements and ancillaries). I was told that you should not chase down medicines with tea because it has theanine, and it will affect how these will work. Is that true? What liquids can I use to swallow my supplements?

Theanine is an amino acid (a building block for proteins) found in green tea. People use theanine for treating anxiety and high blood pressure, for preventing Alzheimer's disease, and for making cancer drugs more effective.

Doctors recommend not taking medications with tea because the tea can actually make the drugs MORE potent.

For over the counter supplements, you have nothing to worry about.

You can always use just good plain old water to swallow your supplements.

I agree with Masonicbb; I tend to overthink these minute details, but my success always ties back to my overall consistency.

This holds true only for very potent ansiolitic drugs, where they even limit the amount of cheese you can eat due to the theanine, which will greatly increase the potency of these drugs. However, with normal supplements there will be no difference at all, so it is perfectly fine to chase down your supplements with tea, or other liquids.
