I'm another rook! I'm 16 years old and I've been lifting for 8 months but I'm not sure if I'm doing things right because I'm not gaining a pound! Anyways, I love hockey and thats mainly why I train. I'm 6', 185 lbs. I love being outdoors. I'm new so I've got lots of questions!

Hi
But anyway I'm a computer geek from Savannah, GA who grew up in a split of Shreveport, LA and New Orleans, LA. All my grade schooling in Shreveport. I was a Defensive back, shooting guard, and quarter running all through out Jr High and High School. (I was a skinny SOB) I've more or less been a athlete all my life. But anyway, I choose a more intellectual route for college and went to College at Centenary College of LA (home of Robert Parrish and Hal Sutton). Graduated with a performnce degree in music. I went to Univeristy of New Orleans to get my BS in Computer Science, but I decided to get a job before I finished up. I've been paying for that decision ever since :-) I got a job at one of the large corporations in Illinois so now I'm a yankee. Well atleast my southern friends call me that. I may be back in the state of GA soon as I want to get back to "prime time" (no Deion Sanders pun intended there) , in terms of athletics and computers

Hey group,

I'm 23 years old and I work as a computer analayst.
I was a very physically active person until a life-threatening accident kept me from doing anything even remotely physical (I was 14 at the time)
I am sick of people telling me that I should eat something because I'm so skinny. I've always had a hard time gaining weight. A few months ago something happned inside me and I decided to stop procastinating, join a gym, and get this shit done right. I go to the gym now every other day, in between those days I now study Ninjutsu. My goal is to be 160 lbs. Although now I'm only about 135, I started a few months ago at 129. But only recently did I start to learn the importance of a good diet, resting time, and a lot of that is thanks to this board.

I sincerely would like to thank every single freakin person on this board that either posts a question and gets it answered, every person that posts useful information for us newbies, and every person that answers the questions I have. At this time I don't have a lot to contribute, but am confident that in time, I will be able to do so.

Today is August 9th 2004 and this morning I weighed 135 lbs. My goal is to weigh 160 lbs and have an excellently shaped body by my 24th birthday in October. CHEERS!

welcome herkul (cool name..or should I say kul name) and buu.

herkul..got any pics from your bb days or of you doing big lifts?

buu:

That is a very inspiring story. Keep up the good work. I do however think that the goal of gaining 25lbs of lean body weight in 3 months is a but ambitious. At this stage in your training you should not be using steroids, so just keep at it and keep gaining healthily. Don't rush it, you have the rest of your life to get fit!

Thankyou Lumburg. What can I say, you've gotta have high hopes, and big dreams! Something to shoot for yanno?

Honestly buu I think 10 lbs of lean muscle gain in 3 months would be terrific gains. and remember each additional pound is harder and harder to add. So the next 10 will be harder, and then the last five may take you a full three months. be prepared for then the progress starts to slow and have the dedication to continue no matter what. You will more likely than not reach plateaus at which point you will have to look closely to what you are doing (supplements, workouts, diet, rest) and poke around on here for information. That's what this site is for.

Keep on keepin on bro.
