Honestly buu I think 10 lbs of lean muscle gain in 3 months would be terrific gains. and remember each additional pound is harder and harder to add. So the next 10 will be harder, and then the last five may take you a full three months. be prepared for then the progress starts to slow and have the dedication to continue no matter what. You will more likely than not reach plateaus at which point you will have to look closely to what you are doing (supplements, workouts, diet, rest) and poke around on here for information. That's what this site is for.

Keep on keepin on bro.

Thanks Lumburg. I can honestly say I've never been more dedicated to something in my life. I can't believe how much I've changed.. when I go to the store lookin for a snack, I walk right past the o'henrey's and look for vector bars or the like. I eat like 5 times a day. I /crave/ going to the gym. I was restless all day today at work.. just waiting for the clock to count out so I got hit the weights. It's even spurred me to study Ninjutsu. Something I've always wanted to do. No matter what happens tho, I am happy with what I have acomplished thus far. No thanks to the instructors at the gym, but from info from my brother, and the plethora of knowledge from the generous minds of this forum.

Peace

Best bench was 205 at around 170. I surely got stronger, I never quite coudl get 225 though, and then I broke my elbow so no benching for me.

I'm sorry to hear that Lumberg. No more benching, period?

Hi folks... I have been lurking these boards for a while, though I have never really been all that into bodybuilding per se... but one day about a year ago I woke up to find myself fat, weak, and unexpectedly single for the first time since I was 15 years old... so I decided to do something about it. I switched careers, moved out of state, and started working on my body. I am 39 years old, 5' 10", 170 lbs. now; exactly a year ago, I was 258 lbs., and was totally out of shape. I had a 46" waist then; I have a 29/30 waist now. Yay for me.

I managed to shred down to 155 in about 6 months. (I never did any aerobic activity, I used the lifting machines at the gym... unless you count a 15 minute warm up on a stairmaster...)

For the next 6 months, I worked on getting my strength back up, and have brought my weight up to a really toned 170-172. I still have some chub clinging to the ol' abs, and my ass is mushy because of a double disc-ectomy (L-4/5, L-3/4) in September... and my arms are, well, puny. I am working right now to get a nice 5 day split routine in place and get it consistent... I will be perusing the boards here for input, I can guarantee that... heh.

I really don't have any hobbies, other than my new job and the gym... and I am excited as hell to be at the start of actually building my body, rather than working to burn it down.

You're all probably gonna get tired of me asking questions, but I am a total noobie at this. Talking about it keeps me motivated...

So that's my story... glad to meet ya'll!

Jay

Jay, keep up the great job man. You'll get to your goals with that kind of determination. No worries bro, you can do it.

Ok, about myself:

29 years old, from down under, way too light. Willing to do almost anything to get some meat into me. Oh, shit - did I just type that? Well, anyway - I need to start lifting some serious iron to gain weight. 5'7" at 135lb, I know it's shocking. On the plus side I have naturally low BF, and I do heaps of cardio anyhow. But I'm seriously sick and tired of being skinny.

Max, I feel your pain dude. I'm 23, 5'7 and weighed 129 lbs for the last 5 years. But since I've started to pump iron, I weigh a constant 135 and teetering between 135-137. I'm tired of being skinny and tired of people telling me I'm invisible when I turn sideways. You can do it man, if I can do it, anyone can.

I'm 29, 5'11" about 187 or so.

Grew up as more of a nerd than an athlete. I was on the football team in college and that's what got me into weight lifting. I've also skateboarded on and off since I was 15.

I broke my left elbow severely (as in 3 screws and a pin to reattach a ligament to my humerus) last January. I came back to lifting too soon and probably aggravated my elbow. This past December I had another operation to remove some bone, scar tissue, and 2 of the screws. I can now do some lat pulldowns and sissy push-ups. I am not going to push it AT ALL this time.

I used to be really religious about working out. Now I realize that being well-balanced is the key with fitness just one of the pieces that fit together to make the person whole.

My best lift ever is a 405 DL. Right now I just do squats and leg work as well as pec dec and pull downs. I tweaked my back a while ago so I won't be doing DLs again until that is sorted.

Ouch! Lumberg, you got some serious determination. Keep up the excellent work my friend.
