In Dire Need Of Diet Help!!

I'm on my boy's account, so bare with me please:

Stats:
140 pounds
5'6"
bench press: 135
Squat: 200 or so
Bra size: 34 B
Pants size: 9 (but if my thighs weren't so big I could wear a 7)

I have hiatel hernia (spelling?) which doesn't allow me to eat big meals at all... I want to lose some fat, and I'm wondering if you girls could help me with a restriced eating plan (screw diets, they don't freaking work!). I eat maybe 3 meals a day, none of which are as big as a "real" meal because of my hernia condition. I am on a college basketball team, so I don't have much time for CARDIO (we do alot of sprints and stuff), and I have to eat stuff that will replenish me. I really want to lose some fat, please help!!

I have access to basically everything you prescribe, please don't tell me to watch my carbs though because I've done that, and all it did was make me lethargic :( I hate red meat, but I eat chicken about every other day. I cannot for the life of me lose weight.

Please help, if you need any other information let me know and i'll let you know. Like if the food I have now is a contributing factor, ask and I'll let you know what I now eat.

I'm sorry you have that hernia condition. My dad has it and I know it can be really painful. For ideal fat loss, you should actually be eating 5-6 small meals a day, not just 3. I'm not a fan of the low-carb craze, because athletes NEED carbs. You DO need to watch that you stick to healthy energy-giving carbs and avoid the sweet white carbs. Here's a link to another post I wrote that might help: http://elitefitness.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4019343&postcount=6

I can't speak to anything about the herniated disk except it sounds painful.

Diet-wise - low carbing TOTALLY sucks but two things that can make it a little more doable are to make sure when you are cutting your carbs, that you are getting enough good quality fats (e.g. flax oil) to give you an energy source. The other thing is to carb cycle instead of just "cutting carbs. That ties into the first thing w/ getting enough fats while on the low-carb days.
