I have to agree with hydro PROBABLY being the most accurate. However, when I am getting ready for a show, the best way to measure body fat is simply by looking in the mirror. Since YOU will most likely be your hardest critic. It is a whole lot cheaper as well. Good luck in your show. Which one are you going to do, by the way?
your abs are lagging at 2.8% BF??? are you natty? thats an almost impossible BF for women to maintain w/o AAS... I think the calipers are off (the error rate is +/- 5%).
Calipers don't take into account the documented variance in skin thickness among different ethnicities. They also depend on the skill of the person doing the measuring. Most people have 2-3% bodyfat around their internal organs so 2.8% would be virtually fat-free. You can't be anywhere near that level and still be lacking abdominal definition.
Dunno bout digital calipers. But with normal calipers I tested 3.6% ...a few weeka ago, getting ready for first comp. The readings were 5or6mm abs....1mm chest....6or7mm thigh.
I could see someone being lower but my abs and obliques were ripped..I'm talking veins running from lower ab to chest.
The Jackson-Pollock 7 point test is apparently a new standard for bf testing. I had mine done in water and through the 7 point and the readings were within .5%
I tested mine a week out from my show and it was 2.7%. Some of my sites were 1 mm. I don't really think it was that low, I just don't think it could be. The calipers weren't digital. It was done by a guy who has done it many times. It hurt like hell when he was pinching because there wasn't much to grab.
