went from a 10g to a 8g, normally this isnt a issue but since i have scar tissue from having to take my jewellery out so much for work it hurt like fuck when i stretched, hopefully this damn tenderness goes away soon because right now it blows goats.
anyone else a freak with all kinds of piercings ? especially larger then normal?
well, now that i've got being a dick out of the way...for now lol
if you've got scar tissue the only thing i can say is DON'T STRETCH!!!
if you force scar tissue to stretch it till tear and build up more.
scar tissue doesn't stretch well, it has little to no elasticity. if you keep tearing it up to make it bigger the other drawbacks are infection, incredible tenderness and swelling, as well as not being able to just take your jewelry out and have the holes close if you get tired of them later once everything's healed with the jewelry in.
my advice to you is to let your ears heal then get them pierced straight to an 8ga with a dermal punch to remove the scar tissue.
my right ear is slightly scarred and is incredibly difficult to stretch without taking it extremely slow and to tell ya the truth i'm pretty much over it. i don't think i'll be taking it much beyond 5/8"
it tore ever so slightly when i when to 1/2 then to 5/8 and now it's just annoying to do, where as my left ear i can just pop the jewelry out 'cause it's still fresh skin and stretches easily of it's own accord.
also, bactine will help bigtime with dulling the pain as it's a disinfectant/local anisthetic. also ibuprofen will help since it's an anti-inflammitory and will bring down some of the swelling.
if it hurts that bad right away, chances are it's going to get, if not already, infected which is why it hurts so much. next time you go in the bathroom to brush your teeth, etc make sure to have some bactine handy and take the jewelry out to check the holes. i'd put my money on a local infection
