I have couple of questions regarding muscles recovery.

Hi, i have couple of questions regarding training:

1. Do i have to wait until all of my muscles are refreshed to go to the gym or do i have to wait until that group of muscles, that i'm supposed to be training will be refreshed and not sore? For example, if today i train biceps, but my legs are still sore - do i have to wait until my bio-chemical balance is restored, or is it already ok to train?

2. What are the best ways, that you know to speed up muscles recovery?

Thank you.
David.

1. Make sure the muscle group you're about to train is healed before you train it. I.e. if it's squat day -- make sure your legs are healed -- but it doesn't matter if your tri's are sore as hell.

2. Faster recovery -- make sure you're getting enough sleep, enough protein in your diet, and taking a creatine supplement. Active recovery work helps a lot too. You can find more about active recovery just by doing a search on it. I'm sure there are a couple things I am forgetting, but those are the basics.

Don't do a heavy leg session the day before a karate class. OUCH!

Check out spatts' AR thread.

REMEMBER to make sure the Central Nervous system is fully recovered as well. The muscles might feel fine but you won't perform at maximum level until nervous system is recovered.
In powerlifting it can take a few days to a few weeks depending on the individual and the weight lifted.

This is a powerlifting forum... why are you working your biceps?
:-)
work your back and your biceps will get all that they need.

Besides the sleep and protien already mentioned, Glutamine helps.
