I have a case of, "my back is a lot stronger than my grip"

Alright guys so I tried deadlifting yesterday with straps. Long of the short of it is I'm deadlifting 625 with straps and only 385 without... This is ridiculous because this is the first time I've ever used straps in my life. My buddy suggested I use some yesterday so I did. I tried 4 plates at first(405). That was a breeze. Felt lighter than 385 w/o straps. Then since that was so easy I put on another plate 495. This wasn't very hard either. Put on another plate for 585 and it started to get tough. Did a few more singles and ended up at 625. I must admit my back is freaken dead today. Never felt this sore in my life.
Anyoen else experience this? I think my grip is so weak because my hands are so amll. I'm unable to hook grip the bar and can't clean very well since my hands can't grip the bar too tightly.

Is there hope for people like me? I would like to compete in powerlifting, but I feel I might suffer from having small hands.

load a barbell at waist height at a weight you can only hold for about 15 seconds. then pick it up and hold it until your grip fails a few times once or twice per week. also dont use straps or hooks. you can bring your grip stregnth up fast so just lat your back suffer a little until your grip catches up.

I have the same issue but don't worry about it at all. I use wraps to get maximum reps I don't care how people feel about wraps I want to get bigger and if that's the way then that's the way.

def chalk. i should have added that

there is nothing wrong with that but its not the way, its a way. i have never come across a person that tried to bring up their grip strength and couldnt do it quickly. once your grip is up to par which way is better?

imho, farmers walks with a trap bar do wonders for your grip. Those and static holds are both great
