I am so fucking tired of doing squats.

I do manual labor, Power Cleans, Stiff-legged Deadlifts, and Squats.

Frankly, I am tired of the Squats. I have done them for just about every leg workout I have ever had, and I really am starting to find excuses to avoid doing them, although I have not succumbed to those excuses...yet.

Front Squats are no fun, either, for rep ranges that would cause growth in few sets, as my forearms and arm flexors wedge against each other. I'm not amazingly large or anything, but this really fucks with my technique, so I neither enjoy the movement, nor do I get much out of it. It's not flexibility, either, that is lagging.

I am thinking that *maybe* a Vertical Legpress would help. I have a Super Squats Hip Belt, but the weight swings more than a little, even on an EZ-bar, so I use it primarily for weighted dips, weighted chins, and similar things.

And I am only interested in presses, not pure extension movements.

This may take a while for me to figure out.

Thought about mixing up some 8-10 rep work with some 3RM work? then throwing in some speed work? That'll make ya grow!

Yeah if you are feeling burned out with squats do some hack squats or whatever else to mix things up. Hopefully after awhile of doing that you'll come back refreshed and ready to do squats again.

Although I don't ever think I could hear myself saying something like that... :)

The old mixup always helps keep things interesting... dumbbell lunges are an old fav of mine... Hack squats are ok so are lp's ... but I'd have to say Squats are the most beneficial.

May I suggest you try the Smolov Squat routine? :splat:

Sounds like your getting close to overtraining - I was like that before my last 2 week break.

everyone gets bored sometimes. hit some leg presses for a while, maybe some good mornings to keep your posterior strong and then come back when you are ready again. no big deal. squats are great but if you dread them, when you once loved them...its time to be away. :D

:) Kinda like saying "I don't think I like women anymore"

I agree with the break if you hadn't had one for a while

you don't have to be 100% balls to the wall every single workout.

try some hacks/leg presses for a couple weeks. by the time you've been at that for a couple weeks you'll be wanting to squat again.

don't be afraid to back off a bit when you're burnt out.

Switch your squat to deep bottom squats. You'll have to lighten the load by a lot. Start off really light. Squat down in the rack almost untill your ass hits your ankles. This will engage a lot of muscles you thought you were working but weren't. The bottom is primarily the area really getting worked. Once you pull out of the bottom the weight is light for the top part of the movement. Bring your reps down to 5.

You might like the transition and start enjoying squats again.
Don't forget... the weight has to be lowered a lot to do these. And another thing, just cause now your squating half the wieght don't think you're a weekling cause these are so demanding where most are afraid of doing them at all.
