hows your guys training and eating for cutting up

Omega, I like the diet advice laid out with the exception of not mixing carbs and fat together. Its perfectly acceptable to mix carbs and fat, and in fact it can be beneficial to mix good fats with carbs in increasing insulin sensitivity and reducing the glycemic index of the carbs.

Other than that, the guidlines given are solid advice.

I have done it before

its great, but it start getting hard arund week three esp if your doing cardio and high reps

I used to drink more than just a galss of OJ post workout

I would have EnerG and like a 3 glasses of Grapfruit juice

but hey I am 6'3 now
and way over 250

as for me here is my fat carb excuse:

the fat in steak or in fattie pieces of chicken doubles as an energy source for you, but also as fuel to sythsize new muscle tissue

that is the beauty of combing fats with protiens
while skimping on the carbs......

1) so one meal could be ultralean meat or chicken with almost no fat but then you compensate with veggies with calories and carbs

2) while the next meal can be somethen really fattie, but just make sure your eating low carb OR no carb veggies THIS WAY THE FAT NOT ONLY AND ENERGY SOURCE, BUT ALSO A HELPER IN SYTHSIS OF NEW MUSCLE

its brilliant if you really think about

THANKYOU

If you the carbs with meal #2, even lower GI one's, you'll digest and absorb them, and either use or store them before the fat in the meal even clears yoru stomach and reaches the bloodstream. They will not be in your system at the same time. The idea is pointless.

Now, the problem with meal #1 is, its very low in fat. Research shows that anytime you eat a meal with less than 20% of the calories coming from fat, within 2 hours of eating it (in men) your blood serum testosterone levels will drop a measurable amount(testosterone productoin matters only to nattys of course), and shbg levels go up (which is signifigant even if you juice).

So using the idea of not mixing carbs and fat in the same meal leaves us this:

1) the low fat meal can reduce gains via lower test levels and higher shbg levels, even if only for a few hours. Also, when you eat carbs with little fat, they have a higher glycemic index. In fact adding some olive oil or natty peanut butter to a carb is a good way to lower the glycemic index of it.

2) the low carb meal is pointless since the carbs and fat will not be in your system and bloodstream at the same time anyways due to drastically different rates of digestion and absorbsion.

Its a cute theory at first glance, but upon closer observation, actaully has no merit.

Any diet will work as long as your calories are below maintenance and you actually stick to it. Personally i think it's harder to cut then bulk. Bulking is more about taking the physicall stress on, cutting is ALL friggin mental. And it's the mental shit that chews my ass. Every time i try to cut, the bulk keeps suckign me back in i tell ya!

On a side note though, i agree with BBF, you can freely mix the carbs and fats. When i have my 1/2 cup of rice with fish i add 1tblsp of hemp oil to it and it made a wordl of difference results wise and how i feel and perform. With the partinioned meals like protein and carbs only i never fealt full or satisfied, but alas add one spoon of hemp oil and all cravings are fixed for 3-4 hours.

Yeah, good article, but I looked much better this summer taking in more carbs tthan I did last summer. I go low-carb and don't train to failure while cutting.

slyder what is the reason for not training to failure while cutting???
