How to talk someone out of taking juice?
Ok, my sisters b/f, is 30 years old, 6'3 185-188 soaking wet. He has been 'training' (if you can call it that) for about 2 years now. He doesn't believe in really training back, other than a couple set of pull ups, and says his legs get worked enough from running. He basically trains arms, chest and 'abs'. He does no shoulder work either. He eats a couple subway sandwiches day with double meat, and some cereal, maybe a coupe slices of pizza. He thinks if you eat more than that, you will get fat. He is built like a pencil (straight up and down), and should have NO fear of getting fat. So, he wants to do a cycle of eq (he found someone who offered it to him at a gym). He said he wants to "add a lil to my upper body, chest, arms and tone the stomach." Now, I am trying to talk him out of it, but not working too well. I tried taking him to the gym with me, to train him. I had him do dips, deads, bench, rows, chins, etc. He didn't like it too much, and the next week went back, but did his 'rouine' which was: triceps: cablepress downs 3 sets, cable press downs with a bar 3 sets, kickbacks 3 sets, abs: a shit load of crap, then cardio! What kind of crap is this?! I have helped a shit load of people. I am taking my time with this guy, and for free. I just don't know if I sould let him do that cycle, and learn on his own, or continue to try and talk him out of it. Any opinions? He keeps asking for my help, and I am very patient and nice about it, and every time I write up a routine, or offer to take him with me to the gym, he sorta acts like a know it all, and blows off my advice. I'm sorta getting frustrated, my sisters boyfriend or not!
