How to reduce muscle soreness after workout?

This week I started to train again, and I do trainquite intensively. The muscle pain and soreness is killing me, and Ican barely walk or raise my hands. Is there any reliable way ofstopping this pain? I don't recall getting so sore after trainingbefore. Maybe I was more gradual before.

your body is simply not conditioned yet.. give it time.. maybe back off your workouts

muscle soreness is NOT lactic acid like you hear people parrot. it is caused by micro fractures in your muscles causing inflammation.. the best thing you can do is proper nutrition and SLEEP for soreness. things like taking a bath in salt and that sort of thing might help a little, but if you aren't sleeping and eating right you will have problems ..

Generally if someone is extremely sore after their workout it means:
1. They are doing too much. Remember that working out is a stress. If you are just getting back into weight lifting, you shouldn't be doing marathon long workouts. Short and sweet.
2. Their diet is not optimal.

Eating a high protein diet will help your body repair and grow muscle and reduce soreness. If you aren't a big eater, you could try using a good quality whey isolate protein supplement.

I personally take a whey protein isolate supplement after each workout. Super convenient and easy. I put 2 scoops in a shaker bottle and leave it in my gym back. After my workout, I add some water to the bottle and then drink the shake down. Quick and easy.

You probably just hit it way too hard right out of the gate getting back in the gym. I would give it plenty of rest and then work your way up slowly to the intensity and weight you are used to.

Unfortunately, it just takes time for the soreness to go away while your muscles are getting recovered. So basically the only thing you can do, is eat well, and have a good rest.

Next time try to take it easier in the gym, and get back into the game gradually.
