How to: Cable Crossovers target lower chest?

I aks because looking online I have seen people claim pulling from below up does, and another pulling from above down. I thought it was above down but now am not sure.

Which is it?

pulling the handles from high to low is the same motion as a decline flye

pulling the handles from low to high is the same mostion as an incline flye

I use a pec deck, and move the seat up or down, to get the same motion as the cable flys. (coincidentally it's the one in my avatar). I'd probably do cable flys too, as I like to rotate among several methods of working each group. But unfortunately no cable crossover available to me.

Ah thanks, high to low it is.

And I do hit the pec deck too, though I've never thought of adjusting the height adjust where it hits hardest. Good idea.

r u cant target lower chest, grab ur pec and ull see it one main muscle group, with the minors underneath

dont beleive me then google it, its an old bodybuilding myth trying to shape a muscle and hit different heads

genetics will determine how it devlops

plus 1!

Don't mean to take anything away from you b/c you seem to know a lot but I repectfully disagree. If you immitate the fly motion with one arm and feel the respective pec while doing this you will notice that you will get a much better pump in the bottom of your pec when bringing your arm from high to low and sqeezing at the bottom. Same goes for low to high, if you do this you will notice more fullness at the top of your pec while the bottom isn't quite as hard.

It seems like the more blood pump you can get to a certain part of a muscle, the more it will tear and grow. If you are tearing the muscle fibers in the bottom of your pecs because of pump then it seems you will gain more size in that particular portion of the pec. Does this make sense or am I off base?

the sly motion stretches the peck, thus when it spumped u feel the pump to a different degree

its liek doing a bicep curl, and a preacher or concentration curl, when u curl u may feel the pump or a certain part of the muscle hti to a certain extent, but thats mearly the angle that creates this

the actuall targeting of a minor muscle is a rumour, trying to shape a muscle is impossible

if it were true we could shape a muscle, we might all be able to have bicep peaks like arni, and split chests, wide lats, and monstered calves

in end of day we cant shape and target different heads, even when trying to hit a different head u still hit the major muscle head since this is the main muscle used in the motion

blood pump has very little to do with muscle growth, again another bodybuilding myth, circulating blood through the body has very little role when muscle fibers are damaged n torn, theirs no evidence to support increased blood flow will increase muscle growth

u can even read a supplement companys NO products labels, which are meant to increase blood flow

all products will state 'blood flow CAN increase muscle growth', the word CAN shows theirs no proof

sorry but ye aur off base, if muscle pump determined growth wed all train in 20 rep ranges since the pump their is better then if we trained with 8 reps

Great response. That makes a lot of sense.
