How much muscle can one gain in two months post-comp.??

What is a likely proportion of muscle to fat gain in the 2 months directly post-comp, assuming a 95% or more clean diet with plenty of calories, HARD training with plenty of rest and minimal cardio (sprints 2-3 times per week)? For a natural. Female.

If I came in at 70kgs maybe ~12% bf for the last comp, then put on 12kgs, and am now taking it off again, what % am I likely to be at at 70kgs again?

Yes, yes, this could probably be answered with calipers, but I don't have access. I look now like I looked at about 6 weeks out last time, except bigger.

Anyone want to hazard wild guesses?

Maybe a kilo of keepable muscle. 2 kilos of permanent gains in 2 months would be exceptional for a natty female, even as a novice. When you get to my stage of training history, it's a great thing if you can gain a kilo of permanent muscle in a YEAR!!!!! Still, over many years it all adds up :) So if you've gone from 61.6 kg LBM to 63 kg, that would be a difference of 2%bf at 70kg. So that would put you at 10%bf by the time you hit 70kg

I put on TWELVE kilos for maybe ONE measly kilo of muscle????!!!

WTF??

That still makes me too fat at 70kgs. Grr. Definitely gotta get smarter about this.... not enough time ...

2.2lbs in 2 months, wow, that would be impressive for even an AS user, I went from 114 to 151.2 and am dieting back down and would be VERY happy if I get 2.2lbs out of it :) Of course I never went over 50mg of test a week and was taking in about 2.5 times my weight in protein, I would be very happy to gain 2.2lbs in a 5 month period, that 5 month is including a bulking and cutting phase. Also, I added test and "bulked" during the phase RIGHT after a contest where you get insanly lean and I hoped to take advantage of that excellent anabolic period right after a contest. Will know in less than 2 months how it worked out :)

I'm natural, and I had about two months between comps to add muscle. I changed diets to the NHE bodybuilder plan to help add mass (basically high fat, moderate protein, cyclical carbs). I put on 5 lbs. but only went up in bodyfat .3%.

I don't really trust my calipers, so I've been using mainly my bw and measurements for this comp. It looks like I'm up 3 lbs. in muscle from my last comp - I weighed in at 130 for the last comp; upper thigh measured 21 1/2, hips measured 35 1/2; right now I'm at 132; upper thigh measures 21 1/4, hips measure 35.

This was the first time in the 10 years I've been lifting that I deliberately added fat (clean, of course) to my diet; I kept the cardio limited to 30 minutes twice/week, and kept my lifting intensity high. I was very impressed with the results.

SteelWeaver, the only way to get smarter about this is to add AAS into your regime. Even then if the dose is low enough to prevent sides (like BrickGirl uses) then it's also low enough that you're not realistically going to gain much permanent mass in a short period of time. MOST of the weight you've gained was water, the rest was fat and LBM. It's not a question of getting smarter, but getting realistic! You are no longer a novice, so gains will come slowly. You must either be patient, or take lots of drugs. Geesh, a kilo a year would gain you 10kg of LBM in 10 years.......that would be incredible for a natty!!!!!!

Now STOP looking at the friggin scales and focus on how lean you're getting. The scales don't mean shit in this game. I am happy if I can come in the same weight for each competition, but look leaner each time. In fact my competition weight has never changed (+/- 0.5kg), only leaness.

Sigh. I just figured, since I LOOK denser, and AM heavier with visually the same fat/slosh amount as before, that this would translate into a fairly decent gain by the time I hit the stage. I don't really care what weight I come in at - that's not the point - it's just the only reference point I have ...

By smarter I mean there's still a lot to learn about this body (in practice), and a lifetime's worth of theory about bodies in general that I still have to learn. Mistakes made are lessons learnt ...

Fine. If slowly it must be, then I will build my sculpture slowly. But surely. Fibre by fibre. I have the patience of a thousand Methuselahs. :)
