How much makeup do you wear and how much do you spend?

I love makeup, everything I use (makeup, skincare) is from Clinique. But what/how much makeup I wear daily depends on what I'm doing and the season--but I usually can't leave the house without mascara and lip gloss. That's about all I wear right now during the day because it's summer, and I've been walking the 1.5 miles to my office, working 4-5 hrs, hitting the gym, and walking home. And there's no one here to impress :)

Going out, I do the foundation/powder/mascara/eyeliner/lipstick/eyeshadow. I was blessed with nice high cheekbones that don't need blush--I've never worn it other than figure skating competitions if my coach made me.

When I want to go really glam, I throw on some fake eyelashes :)

I'd say that between makeup and skincare stuff, I spend anywhere from $0-30/month depending on what I need to replace, sometimes more, but most of that is skincare. I usually wait until Cliniqe bonus time to stock up, so I get a lot of the freebies.

Lucid - my beau is like yours - he likes the whole natural face

Well that makes 3 of us then. My lucky boy also prefers a natural face. But like Wend there are times when he prefers a very different look, but that aint for public consumption. LOL

Yeah, Maj really likes it when I get glammed up just for him (though he seems to find me plenty sexy in the morning, bare-faced with messed up hair and swollen eyes...), after the kids go to bed. He got me these white patent-leather platform heals with purple butterflies embroidered on them...so pretty. When I dance for him in those, I'm over six feet tall! Fun...

I bought some new makeup for summer the other day...spent $20 on a creme blush (plum), creme eyeshadow (blue, "Faith") both from Wings of Love (Burt's Bees' makeup line), and a coral-red nail polish for my toes (they look very sexy right now). I wore it all yesterday and I looked mah-velous.

I spend maybe 10 minutes each morning putting on mascara, foundation, and eye shadow. I'll put on some lipstick before I head out. I'll touch up lipstick now and then throughout the day, but usually I just carry lip gloss with me. I can't stand having dry lips.

I found the most amazing makeup ever invented today!

Unfortunately it's not available in the US. Yet.

Anyways, I went to Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada today looking for foundation. There was a lady from Cover FX there doing who offered to show me her products so I went for it. This stuff doesn't even feel like it's on your face. It's amazing. It looks very natural. I am wearing just the foundation/concealer.

So now my new and favorite makeup is Cover FX. Made in Toronto and only available here.

I stick to make-up I don't have to maintain throughout the day... smudge proof mascara or lash tint and eye liner. For work I might toss in a little lipstick and a good loose powder to control the shiney nose. I'm addicted to those Clean & Clear oil blotting sheets. On dates or evenings out I'll throw on some eye shadow, maybe a little eyebrow pencil. I avoid foundation at all costs (nasty feeling). Ever since I found ProActiv I have no need for it. Overall I like to keep it simple and quick. On average I think I spend 5-15 minutes on make-up, depending on what it's for. I really like Max Factor lipstick and mascara, but everything else is usually Loreal. I think the most I've ever spent on make-up at one time was $20-something.

Now if this were "How much time and money do you spend on your hair"... I'd be here all day. ;)

And that's something most men don't get. Nor does my honey understand how I can be at the salon for hours. But a complicated coloring, a cut, and a brow wax can take a while. He's hooked on the salon now though. I made an appt for him one day and though he was a bit concerned about the $30 cost, he was really excited that she washed his hair. AND she used a scissors instead of just a clipper...and she used a hair dryer! lol

He's a shampoo-waster though. I can't believe how much shampoo most guys use. He uses about 3 times as much as I do and I have shoulder length hair. Thus he gets his own shampoo...and I get him the cheap stuff.

Sometimes when I'm home alone I'll do makeup and try to do something funky and new with it. On Saturday I experimented with shades of blue and wound up feeling like I looked battered.

Guys and their products hilarious. My boyfriend has hair that's about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long at the most, and he was using shampoo and conditioner that cost about 3x as much as what I use! I talked him out of that and into Pantene Pro V, still trying to talk him into using some moisturizers every time we walk by the Clinique counter but I haven't been too successful.

On a daily basis I have to spend close to 45 minutes just on my hair and that's if I'm not trying anything too complex. Right now it's about 4 inches short of getting caught under my butt when I sit down. My ex never did understand why it took me so long in the shower or why I have 10 bottles of whatever laying around the bathroom.

I think it takes me, at most, 10 minutes to do my makeup, and I wear concealer, foundation, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. I wear that everytime I work (3 or 4 times a week right now) and if I'm going out with my friends. Sometimes I'll skip the eyeliner, and on my days off I usually don't wear makeup at all. I don't buy makeup unless I'm out or I decide I need a particular color of eyeshadow.
