How many people dont do flat barbell bench anymore?

I do flat bench presses but not as heavy as i used too. It put way too much stress on your shoulders and elbows. I have severe tendonitis and it doesn't do me any favors

havent done barbell in a while, ever since I hit 405, my right shoulder doesnt seem to like that type of weight anymore and on that range of motion. Too bad casue I loved slapping 4 plates a side and going for it, but my body has spoken.

Same deal with me. The first time I hit 4 wheels was the last time. Since then, I can't flat bench the empty bar without bad right shoulder pain. I've only done inclines for about a year now.

I do flat bench but lately everything is becoming painful and my joints are now a powerful voice when it comes to lifts. I'm 31 now but I remember when these discussions about your joints were something I could not appreciate. Getting old sucks. I have terrible arthritis in my left hip and knee. Tricep extensions are killing my elbows these days. It sucks.

I benchpress max every week I do over 405 with good form on the flat free weight bench..

Sounds like some people here need to change your form..You will fck up yourself if you bench elbows out with the bar coming high on the chest or pushing back up over your head.

You need to bench by bringing the bar down to the top of the abs and straight back up NOT back up over your face..

Check the powerlifting board for info

my form is perfect... powerlifters have no form.. they arch, bounce the weight and cheat using wraps, and shirts.. i do none of that....

incline and decline only, flats hurt my left shoulder.

That's a laugh! I guess that's why we all are still benching heavy and squating heavy and deadlifting heavy! While with your great form your relagated to fluff exercises.
