how many members can rep 225 on bench press for 40 reps

Well...

40 reps with that weight calculates to a 1RM of over 500 pounds.

I can do 28 reps with it before I run out of gas. Of course I weigh 205 at the moment, but I can do my bodyweight 40 times.
 
CN1 I seen that you do the db's after. I just don't know if I consider that strength training. I think you burn yourself out with those high reps and now you can't do heavier poundages for those 8-10 reps. Also, I think you didn't get what I was saying. There is no calculation that coralates(sp) you doing 225/40 times means you should be able to do 500 then. That high rep training will not prepare you for low rep sets.
 
Well my chest is lagging really, I only bench about 260 for 8-10 max. So no dude, that's impressive though. I don't train like that though, so even if I did I wouldn't be doing it.

But hey my chest is growing :) :)
I'll stick some before after pics in about 8 weeks when my cycle is comleted.

CN1, how tall are you?

for shorter guys something like is is obtainable easier..

But if you have the monkey arms that I do ....it's a little harder but not impossible...

I've always had trouble with benching heavy weights because of this..... It's a little discouraging
 
Im 6'1 at 240 lbs............I do this psychotic training, and fuckin go crazy for about an hour, my chest routine is this............

flatbench supersetted with db bench
incline bench supersetted with incline flys
incline hammer strength
decline hammer strength
cable crossovers
light bicep work
incline machine presses
standing decline crossovers
db flyes supersetted with pullovers
then end with 50 reps on flatbench at 135lbs.

I posted my arm workout under major stacks thread need help with my arms, check it out, guys this is straight intensity workout with no rest and no talking, all workouts must be done in one hour or one hour and 15 minutes.
 
CN1, that is an aweful lot of exercises for your chest. I dont believe in doing anything more than 4 exercises and do not do more then 8-10 sets for chest but go all out in those sets. I also dont believe in doing any barbell movements except for incline. Bench presses dont do anything but help someone ego. So someone can brag by saying they can bench 500 lbs and have a shitty chest or you can have a fully developed chest while doing less. I would rather have a developed chest.
 
check out my arm workout, I bumped it for ya, guys you dont realize when you train around pro bb's you got to earn respect, and arnold says an advanced bb must do atleast 24 sets per body part............hey everyone is different, but if your on 10 different drugs at once, I dont think this is too much!
 
I'm 5'7" weigh 205 and have done 225 for 14 reps a few times. I alway thought 20 would be huge, but 40... Holy shit, that's a lot!
