very very very few need more than 3800-4k cals to put on some nice mass.....
I'm one of the very few but I wish I could bulk on 4k a day it would be alot cheaper than what I have to do now. I have an unreal metabolism as do a few other people in my family, but it makes dropping fat easier and I don"t have to starve myself to drop any bf. My grandmother is 5"2' and 80lbs and has to eat 3k a day to maintane her weight. I agree most don"t need that much food but some of us do.

I guess it depends on how lean you want to be, bro...I prob could eat 4,000 cals too and not be fat per se, but I def. wouldn't have the definition......i'm sure its your case as well.....

Maybe I just use more calories on a daily basis so I need more calories to maintain my weight. What people do on a regular basis decides what they need for calories.ex:type of work, cardio, time in gym, yard work.People that sit at a desk and go home and sit on a couch shouldn't need alot of calories to get thru the day.

I was thinking of bulking so I took the diet plan for a spin to see how it went, I was eating roughly 3500-4k a day and I managed to lose a pound both weeks. I'm an assembley line worker and I wasn't doing no cardio, just doing Bill Star's 5x5.

What you do for a living has a lot to do with what will be your maintence I think. I'm cutting and cutting. Was cutting on 2200 and I lost 4 pounds then almost 4 pounds again so I'm going to try 2400 for a spin this week. I don't want to lose too much too fast because I still have a gut and I'd hate to still have that little excess of skin hanging off my gut because I lost too much too fast. If 2400 makes me lose 3 pounds this week I'll pump it up to frigen 2600.

3000 +calories when bulking and about 2000 calories when cutting..
Very nice approach....moderate is the key! and adjust from there......my bet is 90% over 4,000 calories are either so juiced up or ABOVE 12-15%

To put on weight naturally I eat around 3400. My maintanance is 3000.

I usually eat around 250g Protein
350-400g carbs
60g fats

If I eat more than 3400 I put on too much fat. I find I don't need to go crazy on the eating else most of the gains become fat.

I'm 6'8 235lbs with roughly 9% bodyfat.

Was bulking at 6000 reaching 291 lbs. Took sick for a week +. Yesterday I totaled 5200. Decided not to force feed myself anymore. Still don't know how much weight I lost. Will start lifting again Friday.
