How accurate are those calorie calculators

on a cycle or not...when you go and look up what your total caloric needs are for a day how much of this is accurate??? It doesnt even ask you for BF? so say a 200lbs guy supposed to intake 3000+ cals...but what if he is 20%+ BF? I dont see how that person with high BF should consume 3000+ cals...yes i know that they need to cut under that to loose weight....but is the 3000 cals a day ideal for someone over 15-20+% BF? shouldnt it be based off of LBM?

it's generalized...basic BMR is weight x 12, that's the basal metabolic rate. For active individuals you can tack on 10%. Usually, I suggest a combination of AMR and BMR, somewhere in between for your caloric intake.

Usually, AMR (active metabolic rate) = weight x 13-15 depending on level of activity, meaning you train/do cardio etc...vs. BMR (basal metabolic rate) = weight x 11-12, meaning you sit on your ass all day and do nothing (most people's jobs these days - or minimal acitivity). The standards used for most people are BMR due to simplicity and ability to generalize the #s.
