I don't know. I personally believe it's best to know and listen to yo your own body, not making everything we read or hear Bible. I was overweight for a long time. frequent meals made me fatter, weights made me strong but I still looked like I didn't work out. then, I cut my calories in half, upped cardio to about 30 minutes per day, and that's when I started seeing good results. there is no one size fits all approach; you have to find what works for you and go from there
