Hello all.I am currently planning a cutting diet and need some help or suggestions.I am currently about 240 pounds and need to lose about 40 of those while whittling away my waistline.

Meal1:1/2 cup oatmeal with 2 scoops whey protein
Meal 2:5 ounces tuna with 2 slices wholemeal bread
Meal 3:5 ounces chicken breast with 1/2 cup rice and vegetables
Meal 4:5 ounces tuna with 2 slices of wholemeal bread
Meal 5:after workout-protein bar with 45 grams protein and banana
Meal 6:5 ounces chicken or beef with salad

***i was hoping to enter the ''body for life'' challenge starting this week and need a diet plan for th twelve weeks to lose bodyfat and increase muscle. I will also be working out with weights 5 days per week doing 1 bodypart per day and doing cardio 1 hour everyday before meal 1.
***Any suggestions are most welcome even if it means a complete overhaul.

If you are doing the body-for-life, which is time managed, then I would recommend you cut the carbs out...I've took the time to sample it for you...
ORIGINAL PLAN:
Meal1:1/2 cup oatmeal with 2 scoops whey protein
Meal 2:5 ounces tuna with 2 slices wholemeal bread
Meal 3:5 ounces chicken breast with 1/2 cup rice and vegetables
Meal 4:5 ounces tuna with 2 slices of wholemeal bread
Meal 5:after workout-protein bar with 45 grams protein and banana
Meal 6:5 ounces chicken or beef with salad

ALTERED PLAN: (+ means changed)
+Meal1: 1 cup oatmeal with 2 scoops whey protein
+Meal 2:5 ounces tuna with 1 medium yam
+ (brown rice is optimal)Meal 3:5 ounces chicken breast with 1/2 cup rice and vegetables
+Meal 4:5 ounces tuna with 1/2 cup beans
+Meal 5:after workout-protein bar with 45 grams protein and (use a small amout of dextrose powder post workout 20-25 carbs)
Meal 6:5 ounces chicken or beef with salad
-->add a soluble fiber supplement to meal 6 w/ chromium

Thanks Mr X. Good to see you back. I hope everything worked out ok.With the dextrose powder, would gatorade be ok because i would not know where to get some ? Also would i do this diet seven days a week for the whole twelve weeks?
Thank you in advance.

Sorry, i forgot to ask about meal 4. the half cup of beans, would that be green beans as in vegetable beans or like baked beans?, and with the protein bar the bar i sometimes get is 45 grams protein,18 grams carbs and 13 grams fat. Should i change this to something else or just keep this as is with a gatorade perhaps?

1)baked beans is probably the best
2)no , no gadorade...goto
www.proteinfactory.com
you can find the carb powder there
3)I would run it 6 days a week, then on day 7 do the same diet, just add 100-140 extra carbs (like a carb-up) but w/ low carbs
