I've already got 100,000K on the line with sponge that it is not a cyst.

I'm thinking no anti biotics will be prescribed either, no need to overprescribe in this case. If it is red and swollen with a discharge I'd go the antibiotic route, especially if it was in the soft tissue, not the skin.

It's a lymph node and jellybean size isnt that bad. And youre right, in a young healthy person with no symptoms maybe not antibiotics. It all depends on the physician depending on what he feels and I believe that some may prescribe them to help remove any bacterial infection prior to a followup in a few weeks that way if it shrinks then problems solved.

Bran, it's a cyst. They can cut it out of you, if its a problem. I don't know what they will do for the neck area, but when I had it they gave me a local anathesia (sp?)
