Does anyone else love this machine as much as I do? Often benching just doesn't feel natural for me. It also has many form technicalities. When I do the seated flat press hammer machine and dips (also as effective some would argue more so than benching) I get a quality chest workout. Either using one of them or both, no more than 3 sets between them.

The shoulder press doesn't feel as natural to me and so I stick to barbell overhead presses for that.

I use mostly barbell bench, but my friend swears by reverse grip hammer benches for tricep development. It seems to work for him, because his arms look like legs, lol. :D

i think i used it once, the incline one.. it was ok..

but, i would never do it over free weight BB benchpress or incline..

i dont really like machines.. i think cuz im too short, and they are not made for everyone.. but of course i use the lat pulldown, tri press down ect. and stuff.. but im not a big fan of hammer strenght machine...

OH, except for the seated hammer strenght row.. the one dorian used.. for sure

i never do machines but i was visiting a friend out of town. went to work out with him and the had Hammer Strength.

incline seated press
flat/decline seated press
overhead press
lat pull down

all worked perfect for me, i couldn't believe it

I use the hammer bench often. I find that it hits my pecs MUCH better than a normal bench. If I grab the inside grip, I don't feel it in my delts or tris, just me chest.

My PR right now is 410 for 5, But I am going for 450 on Monday.

off to the gym now to hit the hammer incline press in my DC rotation.

i believe last time was 2 45's and a 35...this week 3 plates a side will be mine. yaaaaay!

i tell you what, the hammer wide chest/decline type movement, you can move some weight on. short range of motion and its like dips...i guess its an ego machine. i dont use it anymore, but its funny to see the difference between the normal bench press and that machine.

of the hammer equipment, i prefer the lying or seated chest press. lying being more fun, it starts off heavier from the go, and is easier to adjust...since you just slide up or down to place your hands. (i hate adjusting machines)

ps, kronk....thats some damn PR! sheeeesh!!!:)

Used to use the incline chest all the time and loved it! Gone back to regular incline bench though. Did'nt feel like I got as much of an overall growth effect due to the fixed plane that the hammer strength moves in. Used to like the hammer behind the neck press for shoulders and hammer rows as well.

I can't think of a single machine that would provide more benefit than a free weight...

...unless you are rehabbing something...
